New Track rankings

Doesn't anyone know when Intermat will get their new rankings out?

Stoll is deserved, Wilke at 2 is awesome, but doesn't feel right just yet.

Add Lee and if Downey joins, then we're cooking with bacon!

Just for fun, I set Lee as the starter, as well as Downey, and then re-ran the dual comparisons for the 10 losses the ranking system predicted.

6 of those losses turned into wins, with another (Michigan) ending up in a tie. That puts us in a tie for 3rd with Michigan.

Checking the tourney rankings, that would bump is to 4th place, behind Michigan, but that's also with Lee's placement being R12 (which should be 1 point, but comes out as 0 right now I believe). Let's say Lee gets 3rd, then that moves the tournament rank up to 3rd, barely in front of Michigan, and about 40 points behind both OSU and PSU.

Does your algorithm take into account that Michigan wrestlers tend to choke at NCAAs?

Add Lee and Downey and I think we are the #3 team. 3-5 range for Stoll sounds about right. I wanna see what he's got for Nevills and also if he can hang with Coon. Wilcke on the other hand is more of a 4-6 right now. #2 is really pushing it expecially since Wiegel handled him with ease last year. Exciting times right now with Stoll back(needs to work on bottom), Wiclke showing improvement(just needs to believe in his stuff and that he can beat these guys), Bull looking as advertised, Possible PD3(easily top 5 at 184), Lee(going to get better with every match), & are two vision quest boys in BS and Kem trying to knock off the number ones.

Also Warner and Murin who are getting some great experience wrestling with the bigs for next year. Then they will have all spring and summer to fine tune there strengths and weaknesses!

I wasn't suggesting that we were a title contending team by any means, but it definitely brings excitement.

Hard to believe Happel isnt even in the top 25. It may not make much differnce but it seems odd.
In reality, he’s top 25. I’d put him around 15 or so. If he earns the starting spot, I think he could finish the dual season on the top 15. Problem is that you don’t score much unless you’re cracking the top 8, at a miminum, when it counts.

In reality though, he’s only wrestled one of those guys in the top 25 (#20 Tyler Smith) and got majored.

Rankings are pretty fluid this early. He has wins over 2 guys who were ranked around 10.

Diehl was ranked in the 10-12 range but I don’t think Van Brill has been that high and maybe not even ranked at all. He’ll get another opportunity this Friday against Gasca but this weight is pretty deep so I have a hard time seeing him make a huge jump in the rankings and into the top 15 unless he beats Thorn, Red or McKenna which right now I don’t see happening.

It does seem a bit odd, but he's 10-5 with no wins over anyone in the top 25 (at least per Track rankings), losses to multiple unranked guys, and he got majored by #20. Like Glosser and Young and Gunther and Bowman, he's kind of a fringe-top-25 guy without a signature win and not enough consistency.

Happel has lost twice to #40 Murin, once to #20 Van Brill which he avenged at midlands, lost to #9 Tyler Smith, and #58 Nate Limmex. Best win is Van Brill followed by beating #25 Colton Schilling and #41 Ryan Diehl. These are wrestlestat rankings. He will have the chance to prove himself in the duals with these opponents, #15 Gasca from MSU, #6 Heil from OSU, #2 McKenna from tOSU, #26 Profaci from Michigan, #18 Thorn from Minny, #80 McKenna from NW, #29 Nick Lee from PSU, and #31 Kanen Storr from ISU.
