NFL - Iowa ** Drafted, ISU **** Not Drafted

Pretty cocky for a team that finished third in their division (weakest division in all football conferences). But hey, every little win right. What goes around comes around. Speak while you can.
And your team finished where exactly? Ah yes, under our boot, as has become your rightful place. Just a few months until football season. Assume the position...........

It has already started. Expectations are raised after year 2 of current staff. It is going to be difficult moving up in the conference when you play every team each year.
Not when you play a bunch of teams that don't play defense. Should be interesting to see how long it takes Frost and Moos to make a push for Nebraska to rejoin the big/12 or whatever it is, so they can hope to win a division again........

Generally top 20-25 over KF's tenure? Yeah, I don't think so. There has been some good years, but there has been many more non top 25 years. What is puzzling is the hawks should really be taking advantage of the unbalanced schedule to be perceived as a top tier B10 team, but have really only taken advantage once. Being one kick or so from a playoff berth after getting a very advantageous schedule is hard to swallow.
Well if anyone should know how to swallow, .......

ISU gave one of the playoff teams their only loss at home. It was mentioned over and over leading up and during the overtime loss to Georgia. The highest number of viewers watched the playoffs.
And Iowa destroyed OSU and kept them out of the playoffs, (which was discussed at length), or the big/12 wouldn't have had a team in again last year, so toss that crap away as well.......

Lanning might be a NFL surprise. That kid is a full blown baller.

Lizard is too s.....l.....o.....w for the NFL. That lack of speed is a common failing of the species
tardipedi cyclone.

He ran a 4.56 at the combine. That is fast enough for a receiver his size. He could beef up and be a tight end as well. He is going to play in the NFL.

But not during the playoffs when everyone was watching

4 hr game and they got mentioned for 15 seconds congrats. Funny during Bama Clemson game they mentioned how Bama fans had to be sending ferentz and Iowa thank you cards since Osu didn’t make it cause of the blowout loss in kinnick. So again please explain how ISU in your words were “so much more relevant” last year. Cause you got a 15 second mention in a final 4 game, hahaha.

As for Lazard I think both he and wadley ended up in good spots With not a ton of depth and talent at their positions and have real good shot of making rosters and at very least practice squad.

Jags agreed not sign any more free agent wide receivers and gave him $40k to sign

To bad Campbell didn’t do that for him (beef him up and move to TE). Cost his player a lot of money. If he should be a tight end in the NFL, I wonder why no one on the Clones coaching staff could see that? Or maybe Lazard was asked and to stubborn to do so? Either way, a waste of talent.

Iowa staff puts all their players in the best position to get to the next level, if that’s what they want to do. Iowa State, more concerned and excited about getting a 6 second sound bite going into commercial during the playoffs.

He was a 4* top-10 WR recruit. He went to ISU and ended up undrafted. How do you explain that? Who's at fault? You yourself say he's fast. He's big. Measurables off the chart. So what's the story? Should Campbell have encouraged him to transfer to a program more respected by NFL guys? If he was truly looking out for the kid's future, something went wrong.

I can’t wait to read Eye’s stupid response to this! How much do you want to bet his response is really dumb? Even for him.

Who is talking about the NFL?

Just a quick search of the internet proves my assertion that Iowa has generally been a top 20 to 25 team over last 19 seasons (time frame that Ferentz has been the coach). In that time frame, Iowa has gone to 15 bowls games and has been rated in top 10 five times. Simply googling for rankings of the 130 D-1 football programs further proves my assertion. For instance, "Business Insider" ranks Iowa 24th college football program over the last 20 years. Eyewejun, I know you're just trying to get a rise out of Hawkeye fans, but your response of "I don't think so" was incorrect in this case. Have a nice day!

Good call but it would have been much more credible if it were the wall street journal.

He won't have but a cup of coffee in the NFL. See James Hardy or Ernie Wheelwright. Same player, same ol' story.

I will bet he lasts longer than Jewel.
Forget about comparing him to Jewell.....do you think he’ll last longer than ISU’s one and only first round pick? Remember, he was the only first round pick in the history of you program, and he was a bust. A huge bust. I know it was almost 50 years ago, so I’m not sure if there’s much on his career on the Internet. You may have to go to the library and check out his NFL escapades on a microfiche machine.

Think he’ll last longer than him?

I've never came on here saying Jewell would stick one way or the other, either. What I do know is Iowa's high end draft picks will have a chance to be phenomenal.

That is the question of the day. Top-rated recruit who was productive in college, tested okay (not great) at the combine and still not drafted? Of course on Cyclone Fanatic the whispers are about his agent, as if teams make decisions on draft picks based on agents. Undrafted free agents, yes, an agent is key to getting a guy to the right spot.

Oh Good Lord, where do we sign up for a piece of that action??????? Barring injury, like what happened to Pat Angerer, the Outlaw will have a long and productive career in the league. Ask around the league, and read whats been written about his being drafted by Denver. Perfect fit for him. Stop relying on your anti Iowa bias to make such stupid comments. Now as for Lazard, who knows. WR or TE you still need to catch the ball, and there's plenty of talent coming in every year.

I get the ISU delusion. Blame the agent. Wrong. He was his total DB self in interviews with teams. Jesus, the “experts” had him no later than the 5th round and the number 19 receiver. Well undrafted and 32 receivers got drafted. Really that is the agents fault?! No. Clowns, especially Chris Williams, stop blaming an agent. He tanked cause he is an arrogant prick. There is simply no other reason how an All Big 12 WR (don’t really need an agent for that) goes u drafted when all experts had him going mid rounds unless teams could not stand him as a human.

I just made the mistake of going to cyclonefantic.com for the first time. There truly are more threads about Iowa than ISU. Little bro is little bro.
