Sorry if this was mentioned elsewhere, but this seemed like it's own thread. It hard to get six takedowns and two SW in the same match, when your opponent has one takedown. Wonder who the ref was?

Also talk about a good game plan. Drake didn't put himself in danger by trying to ride. Just a surgical masterpiece.

Saw a lot of excellent gameplanning by the team yesterday. Buch followed the blueprint to a T against AJ. Caliendo getting a nice lead, then slowing it down against an excellent counter wrestler. There's other examples as well.

The "we only worry about us" line during interviews is just coachspeak, guys.

I love the we always choose down because of bravado line that gets posted so often. Even after duals where we may choose neutral at 2 or 3 weights.

Did you see the expression on Stieber's face when Drake shook his hand after the mate?

Ive seen at least twice now where a wrestler jumped in the air to avoid his opponents arm swing at his legs and the ref called stalling.
Ive also seen where a wrester sprawled when his opponent went for him (and ended up getting him) and the ref called stalling.
Not to mention Buchanan getting a stall call at the beginning of the match, cuz AJ wouldnt let him come back on the mat, when he was trying to
This terrible officiating shit has got to stop!

That's a great chart but after the first TD in 3rd period Drake put on his track shoes. He knew the only way to lose was to get caught in one of Bouz big moves, so he did the smart thing. He didn't engage.

Anyone watching knew what he was doing. And yes, it should be called in closer matches as well but IMO the ref was right to ding Drake for stalling after the 1:30 mark, because he was!

While not disagreeing that Drake was wrestling different, the first stall came after the sixth takedown and 6 seconds after the escape.
