Trying for a steal made more sense to me, so I have no problem with it. Indiana is good at FTs, and fouling would have accomplished one thing: extending the agony. And that's it.

So if you wanna criticize Jan, there are plenty of potential topics, but not fouling in the last 40 seconds ain't one of 'em . . . IMHO.
