The big 10 is scheduling the most difficult non-conf games and it ain't even close. Took out the direction schools, the "Lamars", and other such riffraff.

The question is who's not scheduling who? I have a feeling since the SEC and Big 12 moved to a 9 game conf. format, they stopped scheduling tougher non-conf teams b/c they believe their season is tough enough.

Big 10:

Top 25:

So, somebody ought to forward this to Colin Cowherd. I see two better OOC wins than Pitt in the entire SEC (North Carolina and Wiscy) and only 3 better opponents scheduled in the entire SEC (North Carolina, Wiscy and Oklahoma).

I count a grand total of 8 power 5 OOC teams scheduled in the entire SEC. Western Kentucky and Memphis aren't power 5, even though they are having good years. BYU is an independent.

The Big 12 OOC schedule is pretty weak, especially TCU, Baylor and Okie State. Okie State scheduled Centr. Michigan, Central Arkansas and UTSA.

Sheesh and folks like Cowherd are complaining about Iowa's OOC schedule

Yeah, I went with sagarin rankings I did this fairly quickly but I think I got them all.

Not quite the complete murderer's row that it has been portrayed as, now is it? If you focus on just the Power 5's, it's reasonable. But look at the rest? Where are all of the other incredible non-conference challenges that the rigorous SEC schools unilaterally impose upon themselves? Nowhere to be found....that's where. But props to Georgia. They definitely take the cake in the SEC when it comes to scheduling multiple Power 5 opponents. Only 13 times in this 10 year span has an SEC big dog's schedule included more than 1 Power 5 team...and Georgia owns SEVEN of them.

THANK YOU!

Come on guys we all know they schedule soft because of their tough conference. They can't dare play one tough team in the non-conf because they have 6-7 games vs TOP competition in the SEC.

If you look at the big 12, there are only 4 teams above .500.

Is it true that Baylor hasn't played anybody, not a single team, above .500 yet? In comparison to Baylor, TCU and Okie State, Iowa's schedule, especially the OOC schedule, has been murderer's row.

GREAT info here, and from the OP! Piggybacking on the above, by my count, the "Big 5" SEC teams listed here played 61 Power 5 teams out of their 200 OOC Games from 2006-2015, which is 30.5% of their games VS Power 5.

Iowa played 18 Power 5 teams out of their 40 OOC Games from 2006-2015, which is 45% of their games VS Power 5.

Iowa 2006-15 OOC Power 5 Opponents:
ISU 10
Pitt 4
Arizona 2
Syracuse 2

It's not about facts guys - it's the eye test. Everybody Baylors played is under 500 because they've been beat up by everyone Baylor hasn't played. Everyone Baylor hasn't played is great because they say so.

In defense of the Big 12, all of their teams are playing 9 conference games, but the comparisons to the SEC are legit.

All of this duly noted, I do hope we step up play some people despite the 9 game conference schedule. While Cowturd has blown things way out of proportion, it is equally true that some other schools (Wisc to name one) have been more proactive about scheduling quality OOC games. I would rather average .5 more losses a season in the future and see some games against upper to top level P5 opponents.

Think about why Coward said what he said on his show... What channel is he on? Fox Sports 1... which plays only Big 12 and Pac 12 Games... Of course he has to go after Iowa he is campaigning for his sports channel. That's why he was such an SEC lover before he got canned by ESPN... The guy is a douche and his arguments are laughable. Stick to the facts buddy. And get your sh*t straight!!

GO HAWKS!!!!!!!

Someday the Big 12 will play defense also. Will that stop the myths? Nope not at all.

Slight correction, Western Kentucky is not in the top 50 (#53 in Sagarin) so that's two less "quality opponents" for the SEC.
