NPR suspends veteran editor who blew whistle on liberal bias at organization

Well since there's allegedly 0 Republicans that work for NPR it's safe to assume that there haven't been any conservative journalists that have met their qualifications.
SSKinda saying the quite part out loud there mate.

So if you want NPR to have a conservative voice they would need to lower their standards.
That's a hell of a defense mechanism.

I haven't listened to them recently, but Trump era it got to be ridiculous. Very preachy and focused on identity politics.
I used to listen to the NPR Politics podcast during the Trump years; don't recall any of that. Found them being mostly apologetic/bending over backwards to "normalize" things the Trump admin was doing that were far from normal...

May not have been on that. Like I said earlier... it wasn't all the programming. For me it was just leaving the station on NPR long enough while driving on road-trips.

You have no credibility.

I think their real brilliance here was introducing the public to the idea of whiteness and basically assigning it all the bad stuff.

I wonder why that didn't go over well.

Same with "White" capitalized.

Like... if you're going to group a bunch of complaints about a group of people, don't attach it to an immutable characteristic. People tend to take umbrage with that.

I absolutely loved NPR from 1996-2002. They were a big part of my life. Then they became big time cheerleaders for the Iraq War during the run up, and I lost my love for them.

I still occasionally catch some content here and there and they do seem pretty obsessed with identity issues. I agree with @Joes Place that they apear to be attempting to normalize certain identity groups perhaps in reaction to others demonizing those same groups.

I too liked NPR once upon a time, but justifying their current behavior by saying they're defending the helpless isn't acceptable and is nothing more than identity politics being justified. This is why the left just got slaughtered last week.

NPR funding does not remotely put a dent in the budget.
It does, however, serve to destroy independent media in this country.
