Love it. Herbstreit sure is being a dic@ to the Hawks...glad it's irrelevant as we control our own destiny.
Kirk can suck a d!ck. So much for regular season being your resume. Now it's who is playing best now.
It seems to me that the talking heads are unable to separate the resume of teams to this point of the season from how they expect the rest of the season to play out. They expect Oklahoma and MSU to win out, while they expect Iowa to lose. So the pundit rankings are not based simply on resume to date, but also future wins that haven't happened yet. I don't think that would bother me as long as they were honest about that, rather than denigrating what Iowa has done to this point of the season.

They picked up a big win. I don't know if it was big enough to cover that much ground, but it was a big win. I guess you chalk the rest up to the "eye test" and shrug?
Irrelevant. We don't need to stress about this anymore. We win, we're in. That's it.
And yet, somehow Stanford continues to be ranked about 7 spots ahead of Northwestern despite having extremely comparable resumes.

I hope they play up to their ranking from here on...in all 3 phases of the game. I'm pretty excited, and a win Friday would send us into the conference title game with plenty of momentum!
Yep. Doesn't matter who is 1-2-3 if Iowa is in at 4. At that point you prove where you should be ranked by winning. Simple.
Honestly, it doesn't matter if Iowa is ranked #1 or #10 right now. If they win the next 2 they are in. The committee will jump them into the top 4 regardless of who they currently have in front of them. The only reason it matters now would be if we lose one of the next 2 games to make sure we stay in the top 11 to get a selection committee bowl game (Rose Bowl).
