*****NY Liberty at Indiana Fever Game Thread*****

Fever have no interior defense.
They lean on everything.

It's the classic upper body tries to do something while the lower body acts like a lead block.

It's just terrible anticipation for a professional team as a whole.

As for Caitlin, she needs to figure out that teams are gonna attack her poor ability to defend and run multiple screens on her specifically to get matchups they want.......or she's gonna continue to get embarrassed on that end.

wrong...her defense is fine...she just needs the ball in her hands...which isn't happening while Erica Wheeler dribbles out of bounds out of control

She had some bad moments on that end tonight for sure… I’m a little baffled though that a team that has pretty much known they were going to get Clark for three months, four months, six months….?

And this is the offense they thought they wanted to stick her in?

I mean, I know you have who you have, but really? Do a sign & trade. They could’ve got a whole new team and sent her to the place where she really needed to be, and I honestly don’t know what team that is. I haven’t watched enough WNBA but you don’t buy a NASCAR to run on the Grand Prix, No more than you buy a Clydesdale to run the Kentucky Derby…

This girl does not belong in this offense.

I think Hannah is better than the Fever bigs
I am surprised at how undersized Indiana actually is compared to the teams they've played so far through the preseason and the start of the regular season. And sure you can quote me their size compared to other teams on the roster sheet, but they "play smaller" than their opponents and that's really all that matters.

With that said, having watched a few games now, if Hannah continues to improve, I see no reason to believe she couldn't make it in the league as well.

She already runs the floor better than most every player on Indiana's roster and several others on other teams I've seen so far, and that's something that can't be negated by "going up against grown women".

A good coach adjusts their team to the skills of their best player. Boston is certainly not the best player on this team.
Maybe with their first pick next year they can get a player to compliment Clark's skills.

They were literally picking on her with double screens and forcing the switch to get matchups they wanted.

New York isn't gonna be the only team that "figured it out".......

And while the second part of your comment has nothing to do with Caitlin's defense, I absolutely agree. To be honest, I was kinda surprised they kept Wheeler coming into the season. I know they need depth, and it's a hard ask to push your incumbent starting PG aside for a rookie, but it's clear their best shot is with Clark at point.

Boston was 5-15…ouch. Honestly, I really believe if the coach gave her, CC, the ball and told her to develop passing and spacing relationships, Boston game would end up being a lot better… She would find herself more open, with quick step & ups… She honestly is not nifty around the basket at all, but she compliments that with the lack of touch…..🤓

I actually hate myself for saying that because she is a super sweet human being but man alive. She’s tough to watch down there.

I thought maybe people would watch two games and lose interest. I posted that a few months ago on here when she was still playing for Iowa. Some people said I was crazy. “Why would we all be glued to the screen now …then suddenly change it? “They asked. Well, this is why.
