oakhawk RIP

RIP. Thank you for posting this always enjoyed his insights on Iowa WBB.

I would like to think he has the best seats ever right now.
Oak, You're always a positive force in the chat rooms which is very difficult and impossible for me. You're a better man than I! If you could put a word in with the man upstairs, our hawks look like a B1g tournament contender and an elite 8 team. Maybe you can get us some lucky bounces too...

Would be cool for the Basketball dept to catch wind of this and bless the family.

I wonder if Lisa Bluder/the coaches knew him?

Pretty cool that he wanted any memorials directed to University of Iowa Women's Basketball.

Just my opinion, but I would assume the coaches knew about him based on all of the recruiting notes and info, etc., from the season ending banquets and recruiting visits, etc. I would assume he was a pretty good contributor. I've had season tickets to WBB the past several years, and wished that there had been a picture in his obituary, so that I might have recognized him. I had asked a big WBB contributor a few years back if he knew who oakhawk was, and he was wondering the same thing. Based on his obituary, he seemed like a very private person.

I'm glad to see some other people sort of take up the slack for us as far as info on recruiting, etc. is concerned.

Knew him a bit in the 90s. Never met a nicer guy. He was a unique individual and very smart. Never married and he lived a quiet life. Last I knew he was a drummer for heavy metal band (through his 40s, lol). I don’t believe the band played publically so could have still been a part of it until the end.

He was my favorite poster. He was responsible to generating a lot of the interest in WBB on this board. He kept us informed better than anyone else and he will be missed.

Indeed he did, especially in recruiting. He will be missed. BTW, I'm from Marshalltown, c/o '67. Taught @ MHS, 1974-82, & helped coach the Girls Swim/Dive Team, also the YMCA Swim Teams. Loved my 'Welcome Back, Kotter' days there!

Yes, I know who you are, Tom. You was on the swim team in high school and I believe that you were a Rogers School and Central Jr, High alum as well.

Didn’t see this until now. I always appreciated his true advocacy and support of the Lady Hawks. He missed the tourney champs and now #2 seed... he would be pleased!
