Obi Toppin wins the Naismith National Player of the Year Award

Herky - have fun with him. He is a bad human who as far as I can tell nobody wants here but has over 50k posts. Quite a total loser life. I am done with that POS.

Why don't you go start another thread about CyTwins and then say you don't care about him at all.

Also...go to hell. And when you get there, say "Hi!" to Art Briles and your mom.

CyTwins is what being an isu fan is all about. Cryclown Fanatic Is his platform.

Award shows that it is nothing but a joke. When the guy who wins it doesn't play anybody all year and still has worse stats than the guy who played in the best conference....shows the people who vote for it don't actually care to give it to the best player just the best highlights which is a ing joke!

The difference is between 11 and 2, Dayton had the better record then Iowa. Dayton would have been a 1 seed and Iowa a 5, 6, or 7 seed. It's not rocket science....
dumb butt this is not a team award idiot....it is best player...get a clue

Hi everyone. Just checking in to make sure everyone is doing ok.
Also, obi beat Garza again if you didn’t hear. Maybe he should transfer to Dayton next year
and play a sissy schedule...Obi still didn't have better stats playing against wussy teams all year idiot!

They have him and we have you, Jeff. Not sure who is worse.

Of course, we also get KujawaFan/Hkfan in the deal.

You and CyTwins go together like peas and carrots. Take a bow Legend and be proud of of all the hard work you have put in to get there.

It apparently is rocket science. The award is for the best player in the country. It doesn’t factor in how good the team is. If you were talking MVP, you may have a case. But not player of the year. That’s an individual award.

Exactly,,,,,,but evidently and unfortunately that's not how the voters saw it, Luka was the best player in the country and Iowa fans know it!

Many people would disagree with this statement.
I am not really a basketball fan but I am also eagerly awaiting your pointing out which stats were better. I'm not even sure what their stats are, but everything I remember seeing has Garza clearly ahead. Maybe assists or something but if I remember correctly Garza had a comfortable lead in points and rebounds. I'm not trying to argue but am I missing something here?

Thanks. So looking at those numbers against top competition it doesn't appear to be close, but are the complete season stats closer? I honestly don't know. I do know Dayton has played a MUCH weaker schedule so even if the stats get closer over the whole season it shouldn't have been close. Just waiting for Legend 12 to enlighten me.

Full Season Stats:

Points/Game
23.9--Garza
20.0--Toppin

REB/Game
9.8--Garza
7.5--Toppin

Toppin had a better FG%
Toppin had a better 3PT FG%.
Toppin had a better FT%.
Topping had a better AST/TO ratio.

And while not great, Toppin is a better and much more versatile defender than Luka is.

Toppin, like Luka, was dominant this year. There really is no wrong choice when picking between the 2.

You cannot support the defender comment. Luka was a very solid defender.

Legend needs to consult with crybaby Jamie Pollard and his pet CyTwins before he can provide an official response.

Maybe someday %’s and not points scored and given up will determine the winner or loser of a game. Of course like most clown fans legend will stick to guns like a dog on a bone. It is just how they roll.

The Cyclones live in your brain, don't they?

Nobody that Iowa owns lives in my brain. Iowa owns isu. 5 in a row in football 3 of the last 4 in MBB, 4 in a row in WBB and 16 in a row in wrestling. I do enjoy mocking clown fans, coaches, players and their douchy AD that believe despite all that they are the “bear” and have the best Athletic Department in Iowa.

that would probably help iowa to not lose 11 games. Markus Howard would also be POTY in a tougher conference than Garza

What I don’t see is any Iowa fans claiming that shooting %’s should be what makes a player or a team better than others. Maybe you can convince the NCAA rules committee to award a certain amount of points to a team that has higher shooting %’s at the end of the game.

Give us your proposal. We won’t laugh really. Oh and be sure to tell the NCAA what school it is you are a fan of.

It was not tougher than the B1G this season. But you are correct, Marquette actually plays in a real conference. If I want a good laugh I'll pull up Dayton's schedule.

The media hype machine that is ESPN has been pushing for this outcome. It doesn’t change a thing that happened. I’d love for Luka to come back, dominate again, and then decline the awards next year saying they’re meaningless.

You have to be a special kind of stupid to believe that.

And a conference that refuses to let you in....Xavier will continue to blackball Dayton....

Don’t need to get in BE...can still be a 1 seed, win all the POTY and COTY awards in A10

average net for BE is better than Big 10

No there not closer, and don't hold your breath waiting for a response because their isn't one. The numbers we're not that close and the competition was so far apart as to compare Iowa playing a D1 schedule, and Dayton playing an NAIA schedule, and yet we see the results.
