I think Iowa is limited on who they can hire. It needs to be an established coach who may be nearing the end who isn't worried about their resume.
It isn't a job for an up and comer trying to work their way up with the way Kirk wants his offense to look like.

i think it's been 3-months to the day since beth announced brian's departure to take on greater challenges. job postings probably expire in 90 days
They've taken it down and reposted it at least once or twice. I saw it last week and it said it was only 3 hours old
This entire situation is KF giving everyone the big FU.
Perhaps with Beth becoming the full time AD she can get the ball rolling? I think it's more of a money thing at this point, and we need someone who is willing to go up to bat and convince the board that we need to shill out some big bucks if we want a decent name.

KF is shifting role to a fractional Offensive Coordinator. 1-2 days per week. Will save money and Kirk won’t have to spend much energy on offensive side of ball.😉
I’m all for that. I think most Iowa fans realize that who it is will not matter very much, but the message board entertainment/comedy aspect of Bud being hired would be just awesome.

I think what changed on the experience requirements was that they reduced the minimum number of years coaching high school from 5 to 4. Casting a wider net. Smart.
The man took 20 games to sign a contract. Please don't pressure him.

That will officially make me stop caring about Iowa football until Ferentz is gone. I've been missing more basketball games with the kids getting older, but if that really happens then kiss Saturdays in fall goodbye. There are other things I can be doing. If the guy in charge either doesn't care or has simply grown too incompetent to do anything to fix his family mess then I'm out.
I basically cut my men's basketball watching by 95%. It's been nice checking a score on my phone and thinking, "Glad I'm not watching.' Once Iowa's games were televised in the early 80s until a couple of years ago I probably watched 80-90% of them. Now I barely care and it's been a positive for my stress level.
Football is getting closer to being there too. Kirk fatigue. Horrible offense. Constant transfers and NIL. Gross to all of it.

There is a ZERO PERCENT CHANCE that it is Budmayr. I've been saying that all along. You guys put a lot of credit into what Dochterman and Leistikow say, and they both laughed at the idea that Budmayr would be the OC. It is just not happening, grow the **** up and stop saying it.
Where would 1.25 rank in terms of OC salaries?

Rumor on the street from Iowa beat writers who have been deadly accurate through this whole process is that KF is interviewing 2 candidates this week.
And by "deadly accurate" I mean "totally clueless."
1.25 is well below Rutgers, Nebraska, soon to be Michigan, Michigan State, both of OSUs coordinators, Penn State, Longo from Wisky makes 1.25. Grubb was making 2 million. NFL OCs can make upward of 4 million per year, so probably worth waiting that one out.

I hope it is a handoff up the middle. Oh and on that play line the RB up about 7 yards or 10 yards deep so the defense stuffs it for a loss.
Just looked it up. 1.25 would be top 10-15 in the country. How would that be prohibitive?
