***Official 2024 fishing thread ***

I went fishing Friday morning below a dam and at a small lake on Saturday afternoon.

Friday morning was with my oldest boy, we caught maybe 10 fish. The best was a very nice surprise, a very chunky 17" largemouth. Was NOT expecting that.

Saturday was with my youngest boy at a small lake. I was showing him how to work a lure and bam, hooked a very nice 15" largemouth.

The best catch of the day was lost. Paddling back to the boat ramp I noticed a nice baitcaster floating on top of some weeds. It was just out of my reach and in my attempt of grabbing it with my paddle, it fell down to the bottom. Inches away from my grip. :(

What's the best way to retrieve a fishing rod at the bottom of a lake?

I'd say it's in 7 feet of water.

I could probably pinpoint the location to a 20 foot circle.

It's not mine and I'm not sure who's it is. Kind of a long story, but it's there and I might as well try to get it.

Went down on Saturday afternoon.
Thank me later, bruh:
