***OFFICIAL 2024 HROT FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD***

Sure, I will send you $48.85 again this year.
btw what happened with that is somehow my bank got disconnected from it and they were being huge bitches about reconnecting, so all i had was my credit card connected to it. Then it was like "do you want to pay the fee or charge the person you're sending it to?" so i said charge you, so it took the CC fee from your cut.

I've since got my bank to reconnect me.

I'm signed up. Sorry I did not vote for most of the rule changes. I'm fine with whatever. I would be fine with raising the entry fee if there is enough interest. I know most here can afford it; I have a couple of bags of can's I can return to help me pay the extra.

Ok managers, now we need to settle on keeper rules. I do not want anyone to be blindsided throughout the season when we get to 2025.

I've been searching some forums and feel like these rules have been a good groundwork to keep managers happy as well as keeping parity throughout the league

Please, let me know your thoughts on this. This is not final, these are not technically my rules, just thought they sounded good, if you have any other suggestions from experience, please let me know. I've only done keepers through baseball, and football is obv different.

Rules:
  • 3 keepers max, you may keep under if you wish

  • No player drafted in the 1st or 2nd rd may be kept the next year. Even if they were dropped, all keepers will be based on prior year's draft spot. All waivers will be counted as pick 15.

  • Player’s keeper cost is 1 rd higher than where they were drafted the year before. If they were a waiver add, we count them as a 15th (final) rd pick and they start off costing a 14th.

  • Draft pick trading is allowed. However, anyone on Yahoo’s Can’t Cut List can NOT be traded for any draft picks. You can only trade picks for the upcoming season.

I don’t know what most of that means but sounds good.

Does this mean if I draft millah22 (RB) in the 3rd round. I can keep him next year but he is then considered a second rounder and can no longer be kept?
  • Draft pick trading is allowed. However, anyone on Yahoo’s Can’t Cut List can NOT be traded for any draft picks. You can only trade picks for the upcoming season. Where or what is this yahoo cut list you speak of?
Please see my comments above:

I've only been in baseball keeper leagues as well and with those they are auction leagues where you really use your budget wisely and can only keep players for x amount of years. So sorry in advance if my questions are something an unintelligent clone fan would ask.

I like these. Never done a keeper league so it’s all new to me. Is there ever a max # of years in a row you can keep someone?

I believe int his instance it would go

2024: You draft Millah22 in the 3rd round
2025: You can keep Millah22 in the 2nd round
2026: You cannot keep Millah 22 since he was drafted in the 1st two rounds prior.

With the longevity of players in the NFL, I'm not sure how many players will remain in the league long enough for this to be an issue However, it may be something we need to consider with draft/keeper strategy.

I suppose until they appreciate so much that they hit the top two rounds. From what I've read though, most people don't keep players more than 3-4 years in a row because the NFL is so hard on them and they drop below their keeper draft value.

How are the picks distributed if someone decides to keep less than the 3. Are they thrown in at the end based on draft order?

They just get an extra pick from the general pool.

So for example you keep someone in the 6th, 10th, and 13th round. You don't pick those rounds, it's auto-picked your keepers for you.

If you decide you don't want to keep the 13th rounder, then you'll just be auto-drafted in the 6th and 10th, and you choose from the general pool in the 13th.

So based on that . My earlier message; when I keep Millah22 in '25 when he was a 3rd round pick then I essentially do not get a 3rd round pick and instead I have Millah22 as my pick?

So the strategies really come in to play when you take a 1st or 2nd year guy in like the 9th round of 2024. They have a breakout season and kill it for you. The next year they're projected top 1st or 2nd round, but you then have the opportunity to draft them in the 8th round. You will then not get an 8th round pick, but instead be receiving your keeper that round with 1st or 2nd round potential.

@everyone. Good news, we're all migrated to ESPN. The draft order is set, you should be able to view the draft order in the league.

Make sure you pay, but that should be about all we need to do until draft night.

Feel free to change your team names/avatars to whatever, but keep in mind if you make it something pretty rando, people may not know who they're playing against.

Thank you (again) for getting all of this set up, Millah.
