Awesome to see Morgan only use 14 pitches in that 1st inning. Hopefully that effectiveness carries over into the regionals
Dang right fielder keeps being in the right spot. Hitting the shit out of the ball. That fall around second cost the Hawks a run too. Good things will happen though if they keep hammering the ball.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I'm not fond of stopping the game here.
Very tough spot for a freshman, especially against the top of their lineup. No real harm done and will be good for his experience.

I knew that was coming, Maryland has a ton of power in their lineup and Iowa is unable to capitalize on all those baserunners.

That said Maryland looks like a CWS type team to me.
It's clear the Maryland coach has a ton of respect for the Iowa program. He just said Iowa is gong to win a regional next week.
To be the best, you have to beat the best. Selfishly, I hope Iowa ends up in Gainesville. My 93 y/o Dad lives in Ocala, a short 45 minute drive away. Iowa goes to that regional, I'm there, hex and all.
Needed to pounce in early innings...Maryland bullpen was dealing especially kid in 3rd and 4th inning. I was bummed but helluva year for Hawks and told the boys to win regionals on way past team bus. I'd say 8k Hawks there today.
