No ROOKIE has ever recorded a triple double in the WNBA. CC has come close multiple times.
As for her being on the bench, she was obviously being subbed for defensive purposes, although as far as ulterior motives, that is pure speculation.

Taking Clark out while the Fever are on defense at the end of a close game is something Sides has done this year. When the Fever go back on offense, she puts her back in.
Clark had the entire fourth quarter to get the last couple rebounds, but didn't get the opportunity. Crapping on sides because CC didn't get her triple-double is stupid. Clark will have many TDs in her career.

When I see stats like this, I always think back to that stupid quote for Chennedy Carter saying the only thing CC brings to the table are threes. She proves it wrong, every game.

I’m not mad at Sides for subbing her in defensive situations. She probably had no clue CC needed one more board for the TD. There’s plenty of other reasons to be critical of Sides. Personally, I’d rather see them get the W. They needed a win after the collapse against Chicago.
You can’t tell me Caitlin is a worse defender than every player that was out there at the end. Not like she was in foul trouble either.
