***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

It will be interesting to see who ends up in the Championship series.

Minnesota might be the best team right now.

Current Top 3 teams:

25-5: NY Liberty
22-7: CT Sun
22-8: MN Lynx
...........................................

The Next 2:

18-10: Seattle
17-11: Las Vegas

Also, that was easily CC's worst game since June. It happens, no one is going to have their A game every night but even her passing was off.

Smith and Samuelson at this point are just wasted minutes.
Thats just where they are with the roster. You've got CC, Boston, and Mitchell. Smith should be a bench player and Hull. The rest of their roster wouldn't play for any of the top 5 or 6 teams. Just nothing from the bench to speak of. Dantas has a few good minutes but takes way to many shots to early in posessions..

Well I'm sure hawkeye-wx will be happy to point out every shot Cc misses or turnover she has. Watching his posts throughout a game, you'd think she was the worst player on the team....As far as her passing being off that is a very good athletic defensive team with a very solid bench. (Something the Fever do not have). That as usual the 3 or 4 missed bunnies on layups or short shots...

Contrary to what kceasthawk posted, I think your statement is overdoing it. Clark started cold, but she made 7 of her last 10 shots and finished with 23 points on 8-18 (3-8 3pt) shooting. The Lynx funneled the ball to Dantas in the fourth quarter and it worked for them. Plus, they got hot.

The Lynx only have three more home games this season. They'll probably finish 17-3 at home.

The Fever, meanwhile, still play another seven games at home, where they've won 8 of their last 9.

Okay then. You may be the biggest fan on here for all I know. Yet in every game you post EVERY freakin thing she does thats not perfect. Shit gets old. Another reason I don't get on these boards (especially the football board) during games. The bi polar shit is laughable. This post proves my point. Let a bit more of the game play out as to her impact and over all play. We really shouldn't need to critique every shot, or pass. Cc2 is what she is. She's a high risk/ high reward player. Her mistakes are simply amplified because she plays so out side the norm....

True, but that still makes it one of her worst games since June. Particularly since her passing was clearly off last night. But still, that just puts it into perspective on how good she's been. Look, in any season there are going to be games like this. Minnesota's defense deserves a lot of credit for that as well. Indiana had a bad night when the team they were playing had a pretty good one. And they still managed to keep it at 10 points. They would have lost by 40 in May.

Observations from the game last night:
- crowd was at least 50% fever/Iowa
-walking the concourse like the big ten championship atmosphere with all the Iowa shirts
- three it wasn't a fair catch shirts in our section
- could tell Clark was forcing things a little early
- MN is an entirely different team with Collier
- they put the screws down on defense, had people streaking back on D, really disteupted Clark's ability to connect on deep passes
- old shades of Sides coaching was frustrating to see
- lynx team passing was crazy quick, Fever seemed lazy/suffocated by lynx D
- stayed for Maya Moore jersey retirement - super cool. Moore simply an amazing person. They had the starting 5 speak from the Lynx 2010s run. Clark was interviewed as part of the video montage about the influence Moore had on her growing up

Thanks. Nice on site addition to the thread General...

Interesting point bio. The fact they didn't get blown out on the road in a game that the Lynx played very well in, (especially on defense), says quite a bit about the growth for Cc and her team mates...

The Aces play @ the Sky at 11am today on CBS.

This is an important game for both teams. The Sky are barely hanging onto 8th place, trying to hold off surging Atlanta. The Aces have been struggling, losing 4 of their last 5 games (three of them at home). Just before the break the Sky won at Las Vegas. Despite trading Mabrey, the Sky are still a team that can cause trouble. They nearly won at Connecticut a couple days ago.

Stokes has been contributing nothing lately - 0 points and 4 rebounds over the last three games.

Gray and Plum are poor defenders. [Compare those two to what the Lynx threw at Clark last night!]. In fact, Plum, Gray, and Young are way overrated.

The Aces are basically playing with only one true front line player - Wilson. Stokes is doing nothing and Gutafson is getting few minutes.

Kate is on the bench so there is no hustle defense out there.

Becky needs to figure this out.

Man…I wish the Lynx shot last night how the Aces are shooting right now. 12 points at the quarter including a prayer bank shot as the clock expired.

Holy smokes, the Aces shooting is awful today. They are 9-36 FG overall (0-8 3pt), and A'ja Wilson is 4-18 (yeah, that's a lot of shots). She is most of their offense, so if she's off they are in trouble. Fortunately, for them, Chicago has also struggled with shooting, so it's still a game.

Update: The Aces made a little run at the end of the half, go into halftime with the lead.

Gustafson started, but only played 7 minutes in the first half. Martin only played 3 minutes. Neither scored.

Interesting you say that because Becky gave Meg the start today.

I haven’t read thru the recent comments but it is fairly obvious that NyLyssa Smith is just not interested in playing with this Fever team.

Very lazy defense. Collier could have scored 60 last night with Smith defending. Zero intensity except the few times per game she bulldozes her way to the basket to get a shot. Night/day difference from the start of the season. Start Fagbenle.

Tiffany Hayes injury looked EXACTLY like what happened to me during a charity basketball game. Turned out to be a partially torn MCL. Kate might see more minutes the rest of this season now.

Stupid tech for Kelsey Plum, ruined the momentum. But Meg has right the ship. Nice bucket, then she about ripped Chennedy Carter’s arms off for that rebound.

Megan is 2-2 from three. The rest of the Aces are 0-13.

6'7" Cardoso is a real problem for opponents. She has 5 blocks, including a couple against A'ja.

Probably why she only played like 5 minutes in the first half. Once Sides took her out she never went back in until the 2nd half started. The fact that she was the 2nd pick of the draft two years ago speaks to really poor job by the Fever or a really weak draft. I know she was a good player on a really good Baylor team, but man. She's almost Reese like as an offensive player, and has REALLY bad shooting form from the floor and the free throw line. Unfortunately she lacks Reese's good qualities. Her motor and relentless drive to rebound the ball. As I said, the Fever have CC, Boston, and Mitchell, a few bench role players in Smith, Temi, and Hull and really no one else who would play for one of the top 5 or 6 teams.

It would be a shame if Angel Reese didn't get her double double. ;)

With 4 minutes to go, she's 4-12 (33%) from inside, 0-1 (0%) from 3 and 1-2 (50%) from the FT line for 9 points, 17 rebounds.
