***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

This afternoon, Dallas outscored LA 40-18 in the 4th quarter to win 113-110. Defense was optional in that game.

I have to admit it's pretty impressive to get 4 rebounds in one possession, even if three of them were on her own missed shots.
One of those was not a rebound….if you look, Aja Wilson actually tipped it back up to the rim, not Reese.

Here’s the thing about stats in the wnba.
Way more misses means more rebounds.
Way more misses means less assists.
This makes cc even more impressive.
And being 6’3” or taller gives you a huge advantage in the rebounding department since very few are that tall and no one can jump.

It's about time time we all spit the vomit out out of our mouths and admit Angel is one helluva basketball player. She can't shoot worth a shit, but . . .
Finally a voice of reason. Caitlin Clark can be the best women's player of all time AND Angel Reese can be fantastic. This is, believe it or not, possible. And literal.

She’s one helluva rebounder…but not one hell of an overall basketball player. She’s a horrible shooter, not a very good passer, a terrible ball handler, and a mediocre defensive player, but other than that, she’s spectacular. She does have a ton of potential though, so I will give you that, but she has a long way to go. I’m not sure how her work ethic is so she will either end up being one of the all time greats or she will fade off into nowheresville within a few years. It’s up to her now.

I have heard AR works very hard. Also, she brings it every game.

Maybe not relevant, but AR was gracious and classy after losing to Iowa last March. Paige Beuckers acted like an entitle little brat.

I like Angel way more than the UConn snots and their coach.

I have also heard Angel worries more about her growing social media career than her basketball career, but who knows. And the whole UConn program is just creepy, some kind of a cult.

As much as I don't like AR, I've been saying that for a while now. Reese if a phenomenal rebounder. Overall as a basketball player, she's not comparatively very skilled in most aspects of her game, but she's easily the best rebounder in the wnba.

Curious why you say that?

All I know is what she said in the postgame presser. Basically that she didn't see the call, and it may have been a bad call but one single call doesn't determine a game, and she should have done a better job making sure they weren't in that position to begin with.

That actually seems classy to me. So did she say something different elsewhere?

That’s how I understood/remembered it about Paige as well. The LSU players’ presser started out ok but then Angel played victim and HVL fed off of it and joined in on her “unfair” victimhood. Wasn’t too impressed with that, tho it wasn’t the worst she’s acted, which I think says a lot about the kind of person Angel is.

I liked how Maya mentioned that the little girl she hugged who didn’t grow up to be Caitlin Clark is just as important too. I’m sure Caitlin feels the same. I bet there are/will be countless stories of how positively Maya and Caitlin have impacted numerous kids that we’ll never hear.

I might have to agree.

I thought Caitlin had 2 steals in the second half against the Lynx, but she was only credited with 1.

So I went to the WNBA site play-by-play and at 1:00 3rd Qtr it lists: Clark STEAL / Hiedeman LOST BALL TURNOVER. On the play Hull had knocked the ball loose and Caitlin recovered.

But on a similar play at 7:23 4th Qtr it lists: Mitchell STEAL / Carleton BAD PASS TURNOVER. On the play Mitchell deflected the pass and Caitlin recovered.

I thought whoever on defense came up with a loose ball was credited with a steal. Is a knock away vs a deflected pass treated differently?

Seems kinda inconsistent to me.

(Incidentally, if you were so inclined the play-by-play links videos of every play)

Go back and watch Reece’s press conference after the loss again. But before you do, remember she brought a crown to the game. Remember she got suspended multiple games by her coach earlier in the year. Remember she earned 7 figures in NIL money. Remember she choose to do swimsuit issue. Remember she chose to opt for h the draft by an article in Vogue.
Now tell me you have ANY sympathy for her pathetic whining in the post game press conference.
She made her choices to act the part and take the money, fame has consequences and she Got what she asked for.

Okay, soooo .... I'm an idiot.

Turns out there is this thing called "Google" I think with a lot of info about a lot of stuff. It is actually the player who initiates a turnover by knocking a ball loose or deflecting a pass who is credited for the steal. Sounds fair.

BUT the stats are still inconsistent or wrong then. Seems Caitlin's lone steal should have been credited to Lexie.

Maybe Caitlin should buy Lexie a Frappuccino or something 🤷‍♂️.
