At what point are the fever considered a super team? Seems like they are there already.
And now four consecutive copy/pastes. Patience. Periods of regression are all part of the process
I don't see what the complaint is. This is the best consolidation of Fever info on the internet. Kind of like the Putin thread for the Ukraine war.
The Fever have won the offseason. But we all know how well winning the offseason has worked out for Nebby f-ball.
Chemistry and keeping everyone happy are potential hurdles.
Why would you bring something as disgusting and vile as nebraska football into this beautiful thread?
I don't think they're a legit super team like the Liberty were last year. They are a stacked team with several all-star caliber players surrounding a superstar, like the Lynx and Aces, and with good experienced depth at most positions.
I'd think a super team would be a team that has at least 2 or more All-league players on it. Similar to what Houston was back in the early days of the WNBA, or the Liberty were last year with three all-league players. Howard and Bonner haven't been all-WNBA since 2019 and 2020 respectively.
Having said that, having a team with a superstar surrounded by experienced all star talent and a lot of experienced depth is likely better for title runs. The super teams sometimes have issues not having enough points to go around to all of the players and inevitably end up running into salary cap issues like the Aces are seeing this offseason in losing some key players that they can't afford anymore.
These roster changes kind of remind me of the 2004 Los Angeles Lakers that already had Kobe and Shaq, but then added a close to retirement Gary Payton and Karl Malone to the roster. They lost to the Pistons in the Finals 1-4. But that was a few big time veteran acquisitions in one offseason looking for a one year run at a title.
If you add up the top 7 players on thie coming season for the Fever , they average 99 points per game. That is Clark, Mitchell, Bonner, Howard, Cunningham and Hull. The addition of Howard, Bonner and Cunningham should significantly improve the defense. Should result in a lot of double digit wins this season.
The coach alone should be worth some points in improved strategy and game plans.

Interesting takes. I guess as weird as this might sound, I don’t think of NY as a super team, by that definition. Stewart is awesome, but I am not as impressed by ionescu as other people are. Frankly, i think jonquell jones is more valuable than her. Whatever the case may be, the fever should be in for a hell of a ride.
With this roster and if they don't beat the shit out of Caitlin, I think the Fever run away with the title.

I've been wondering about this. Boston is a hell of an athlete. Is she committed to being elite during the off season like some of the other athletes? I haven't seen anything, but admit I'm not out searching either.
We've seen a ton of clips with CC working on things, but nothing on Boston

Boston is playing in Unrivaled so I'm sure she's getting plenty of work in
The last 30 games of the regular season the Fever were averaging 87 points a game and shooting just shine of 47% from the field. Both best in the league. The 47% shooting is ridiculous. Stephanie just needs to tweak the offense without messing up what's there already.
White ought to be able to signifiantly improve the defense at the very least by installing a better scheme. As far as individual defenders it's a mix bag. Caitlin and Kelsey aren't the best and Boston is a foul magnet. The new additions are good defenders. So I think the fever will improve on defense enough to get in the title race.
I'm a little nervous though because Connecticut was a God awful team to watch. Just horrible. I hope Stephanie doesn't try to go in that direction. But I assume this was discussed prior to bringing her on as coach.

Connecticut played to their strengths, which was not an up and down the floor game. Whites not going to slow CC down. They all know what they have.

So I’m just getting up to speed on the flap surrounding colson’s agent. I’m kind of surprised given her remarks, it didn’t torpedo colson being on the fever. The white privileged thing is annoying, but her post about Monica Czinano is mean spirited.
Geno is probably reading or hearing material like this and saying somewhere, "And her delusional fanbase is so disrespectful to the game. They think the Fever are going to win a Championship in Caitlin's second year. They are so stupid ... "

It is incredibly stupid for an agent to say anything negative about another player or team. I'm sure Colson told White that she did not share her agent's views. I did chuckle when I found out this agent also reps Swoopes.
If that is directed towards me, I would suggest the same thing to the W establishment. Actions have consequences and such. With that being said, I don’t understand people who feel the need to directly engage with players on social media, and I certainly don’t agree with actual hateful posts.

And only 80 days until camp starts. I think this season will be very interesting because this is the first year that I feel like Caitlin is surrounded by talent as great as or equal to her best competition. We had good college squads at Iowa with her but she made the team outstanding. This year will be the first in a long time where you cannot scheme to try to stop her specifically, because the fever's starting 5 can punish you at every other position with the inclusion of Bonner and Howard. She might actually get some easy catch and shoot 3s herself, rather than making heroic shots created off her own dribble. If so her 3 point percentage should go way up as well.

It was directed at nobody in here. She had a convo with a Sun fan that didn’t like that she went to Indiana and defended Fever fans.
Took her about a half season to get into shape to do that. Catlin was trying to fire it to her earlier on and Boston was not in position IMO.
Ah. I am glad she has a good head on her shoulders. There are loonies, trolls, racists, and assholes in the fringes of every fan base. Fever and Sun are no exception. I wouldn't even go on social media if I was a professional athlete, let alone engage with that fringe.
Not just starters, but also pretty good backup depth. Iowa during her career and the Fever last year both struggled when CC was on the bench. Getting a quality backup should allow her a bit more rest and allow her shot to not fade as much at the end of the game.
Overall:
They have a well experienced backup PG, with championship experience, that should be able to steer the ship while CC is on the bench.
They have Lexi and Cunningham that both have starting experience, and could be starters on other teams, to backup Mitchell and Bonner at SG and SF.
Dantas is a veteran big to back up the PF and potentially do spot minutes at C.
