***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

Wow, 12 per game would be more than a 40% increase over her rookie season and 20% higher than the all-time record for a season. I think it would be extremely impressive if she got to 10 per game.

It will be interesting to see 2025 stats for everyone. I think her assists will spike and be 12+ per game, and her points will stay about the same. I think she will take less shots but shoot at a higher percentage. I think Boston’s points take a hit, but her assists should go up. I think Mitchell stays the same, and Howard and Bonner average 13-15, and Cunningham 7-10.
I don’t think she will average 12 per game because I think her playing minutes will be down since they have a lot more talent this year. I do think she will get to 10.

We’ll see. She’s 23, on a rookie contract to maximize, with a franchise who has gone all in with free agency to win a championship. I think they ride that pony hard. Huge numbers.

One thing about assists (I'm sure I've mentioned this before), but the league seems to be very generous on how assists are determined. There were plenty of "assists" last year where Clark passed to Boston, and Boston took a couple of dribbles before shooting. I have no problem with this, as long as the league is consistent.

I will be honest, I had to look up the rules on what is an assist last year. Like justice potter said about porn, you know it when you see it.

Sophie cleans up well.

So, Kirsty Wallace is sitting out 2025. Her contract is suspended and Indiana retains her rights. I have no idea what this means for Indiana's cap.

From an Indy star article

Indiana’s roster now stands at 10 players. It also opens up that $80,000 for the Fever to use on another player ahead of the beginning of the season.

Are they not counting Brown? Otherwise they have 11 players leaving cap space of $46K. If they cut Brown, they have 10 players and $112K of cap space.

Found this at https://herhoopstats.com/salary-cap...a-fever-11eaecc7-3565-c004-b611-2362f5011b0b/ which shows Brown as a training camp contract.

Training CampA training camp contract is a non-standard contract that is only used in the preseason.
details
It is a one-year, non-guaranteed, minimum salary that is not added to the salary cap until the first day of the regular season if the player remains on the roster.

That is consistent with my understanding. I wonder if they have their eye on someone to trade for using the picks, or else another free agent like Elena Delle Donne who would be willing to sign for less to play on a contender. As it stands they can have 11 players, and it will either be a guard or a big.

Pre-sale ticket prices, depending on seat location, range from $60 to $200, while general public prices will range from $70 to $250. A $6 per ticket fee will be added to each purchase.
I do not think there is any way the general public will get tickets. Two different levels of Kinnick Society and then all of the WBB season ticketholders get first dibs, and can buy 4 apiece. I think it sells out instantly on the 27th.

a lot of ticket revenue.

any idea how it gets split?

From the linked story:

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 25, 2025) — Indiana Fever forward Kristy Wallace announced today that she will not play during the 2025 WNBA season, electing to sit out the year. As a result, Wallace’s contract will be suspended and she will not be eligible to return during the 2025 season, with the Fever retaining her rights.

“This has not been an easy decision for me, but one that I make knowing it is what is in my best interest at this time,” Wallace said. “I would like to thank the Fever organization for working with me throughout this process, giving me both time and consideration, and for their support of my decision. I look forward to cheering the team on from afar during this upcoming season.”

A native of Australia, Wallace joined the Fever in 2023. Last season, Wallace appeared in 26 games, averaging 4.7 points and 1.8 rebounds.

I am pretty sure this is like hitting the "pause" button on her. In 2026 she would come back with 1 year left on her contract making $80K. After that point, the cap will go up with the new CBA. So Indy can fill the hole left by the "pause" and fill in with a contract using the entire $80K Wallace would have received in 2025.

Yep, they avoid the dead cap space for this season and can use the money on a one year contract. Which makes sense since nobody is signing multi-year contracts right now. Next year they may buy her out of her contract or possibly be able to trade her as the league expands with 12 more roster spots available on top of the 12 that were added this year. She’s a cheap contract, for a veteran, and that could be valuable next offseason when a bunch of veterans are looking for big free agent paydays under the new CBA.

I don't think I have ever seen a roster change this much for the better season to season for any pro team in my 50 years of life.
The only other player I wanted them to keep was Grace Berger and that was more sentimental and just wanting to see her in action more than anything. Crazy how they cleared out every weak spot. The newbies better bring it!

If there was a player I was hoping they kept, it would have been Celeste Taylor who the old regime got rid of. I didn't think she got a fair shake. And she's not terrible to look at.

Agreed. She probably would not have been able to lure Howard here, who was the first domino. I also doubt should would have been as dynamic and creative freeing up roster spots.
Maybe she and CS were also old school style, and hence, feed the post, run the offense through the post, etc. ;) She probably would have built the roster under that assumption.

I would have kept Wheeler. She took CC22 under her wing and propped her up in trying times. She at least should have been recognized and rewarded for that.
