***Official Caitlin/Fever/Kate/Meg Games Mega Thread***

I would have kept Wheeler. She took CC22 under her wing and propped her up in trying times. She at least should have been recognized and rewarded for that.
I loved how Wheeler started sh!t with opponents and how she tried to keep CC out of it. I misread her early on, but it eventually became clear to me that she was a big factor in terms of team chemistry. It’s obvious now, however, that the new Fever management has its sights set on very big things, and there are no roster spots available just to be available. Unfortunately for Erica, her level of play, at this stage of her career anyway, just doesn’t clear this new bar.

Are they moving any other games to a larger arena?

Remember, the Mystics' owner is Sheila Johnson, who said that Caitlin should not have been on the Time cover as “Athlete of the Year” all by herself. She thought the whole WNBA needed to be on the cover.

Johnson questioned why the publication “couldn’t have put the whole WNBA on that cover,” given the talent the league possesses.

“When you just keep singling out one player, it creates hard feelings,” added Johnson, co-owner of three Washington sports franchises – the NHL’s Capitals, the NBA’s Wizards and the WNBA’s Mystics.

“This year, something clicked with the WNBA and it’s because of the draft of players that came in. It’s not just Caitlin Clark, it’s (Angel) Reese (as well). We have so much talent out there.”

The weird thing is that they are moving to a larger arena, but not the largest arena where the wizards play, like they did last year. Not sure if there scheduling conflicts or what.

14,000 for concerts. Not sure the number they can get for basketball.

Look at the huge amount of space on both ends of the court.

From a google search:

CFG Bank Arena is designed to accommodate 14,000 guests. Capacities for different events may vary. The Arena will host dozens of concerts; family shows; the biggest sporting events such as UFC, tennis, boxing, NBA exhibition games, NCAA events, tournaments, and more.

I would not describe Mitchell as an unselfish player. She is a shooter/scorer but she often fails to make the pass to an open teammate for a contested shot attempt instead.

Don’t get me wrong, she is an elite, athletic shooter and a valuable member. However, way too often -on the dribble- she’s got the blinders on, head down, looking to drive/shoot.
Her job last year and with the team before CC was to score. They basically had 3 legitimate players last year with CC, Boston and Mitchell. She needed to score. I think with now having a legit starting 5 plus a couple nice additions on the bench she won’t be forced to score 20-25 every single night.
