**Official CNN Republican Debate Thread**

It makes no sense. Do religious nuts really think the govt is going to require churches to marry same sex couples?

Also, if you are in business why would you turn their money away...makes no sense.
yes i think that is for sure the goal: to actually shut down churches when they refuse to marry the gheys. And my church says as much and my preacher preaches it

The government is already forcing businesses to do things against their morals, not saying it would happen to churches, but it can be a slippery slope.

Do the moderators hound Hillarious and Bernie about tax returns?

Sorry for the question, but during their last debate I was distracted by the Super Bowl.

Republicans against Trump are on twitter thanking Mitt Romney for mentioning the Trump tax returns.

A guy that was rejected twice by the American people is all of a sudden loved by basically anti-trump types.

Yeah, but Twatter screens certain Republicans.

Censure is their deal now.

This Romney tax thing seems odd. I just find it REALLY odd that Romney comes in and brings it up and now Rubio & Cruz are releasing their tax statements and demanding Trump do it. It almost seems like a planned type of thing to me.

I hate to say this,as much as I thought people who voted for Obama had no common sense, the same thing is happening with trump. The other part I hate to say that if it comes down to trump vs Hillary I will vote for trump. Certainly a pickle for some of us.

What takes so long to put out taxes? Aren't they already filed? Are they able to still make changes? Assuming they are talking about 2014 and earlier.

It was an effective weapon used against him.

The establishment is trying to get more mileage out of it.

Sorry I just don't see any politician or the SCOTUS ever going to the extreme of requiring churches or religious institutions to marry same sex couples. Its a gigantic leap. Business owners that turn down business to SS couples seem like bad business people to me.

I always thought it was bad for other candidates to make the 35%/poll argument to Trump that he is rejected by ____ percentage. It's easy to flip it around and said well you're being rejected by 85%.

I hate Cruz, but he's knocking Trump around.
Really? I guess he seems desperate to me. He tries to be witty and throw a jab here and there, but I feel like he's missing. Like I said, trump is relying hard on those victories and poll numbers. As he should.

Agree. Romney used the word "bombshell". No idea what that even could be. On the other hand, I see no reason why any candidate would have to release their tax returns. If Trump is being audited, or even if he wasn't, as long as he is meeting filing requirements. that should be enough.

What a clown show this is. It's nothing but a two and a half hour hit piece on Trump, and anyone watching should be embarrassed for our country.

Even Hillary is better than these jagoffs.

The R candidates do themselves no favors by falling for these obvious leading questions that call for confrontational between candidates. But as I said earlier that is what the Republican voters want to see.

Trump can't attack Hillary as the nominee when he is a long time Hillary fan boy.

He won't say crap about her now. He won't in the future either.

It's sort of a "I have nothing to hide" type thing. They hit Romney hard on tax returns because he has swiss bank accounts or say they said. I know Reagan only released one years worth of tax returns for what it's worth.

Trump has had a soft underbelly exposed tonight. Trump the one line master and counter puncher must admire going after his refusal to release his tax returns, and Trump University. He's getting peppered with issues that the average American look at and don't identify with positively.

Trump could help himself by showing up to one of these dog and pony shows actually ready to talk about issues.

This debate is pretty much what I expected. Rubio & Cruz not really attacking one another, both going after Trump. I think it shows that they both know they are in trouble.

Trump looking like Fran on the sidelines tonight. Waiting for the explosion.

He will get the nod in a brokered convention.
