I guess we shouldn't just give them the WS title.LAD 4-6 in last 10 games 😎
Cubs are going to have to take a long, hard look at the Workman situation. I REALLY like this guy and think he is going to be a solid Major Leaguer some day....but right now he is just taking up a critical active roster spot. Cubs already have a backup 2B (Berti), SS ( Hoerner) and 3B (Berti/Turner). At the same time the Cubs have no backup CF - I think PCA has played every single inning of defense this season; didn't even come out during the 16-0 game. And if Suzuki keeps dealing with his injury, the Cubs actually have NO BACKUP OUTFIELDERS. As much as I don't like it, when Brujan is ready to come back, he has got to be back on the roster. He can play all the defensive positions Gage can, can also play CF (where Iowa has been playing him) and is a switch-hitter with a bunch of MLB experience. Not sure if it was loud enough to hear that well, but as they discussed Gage Workman getting 2 hits last night off of infielder Miguel Rojas, Eduardo Perez said, "He owns him".
LOL
I'm dangerously close to being back on the bandwagon fellas. Letting Bellinger go and picking up Tucker is looking pretty ****ing awesome right now. Tucker is hitting bombs, while Bellinger is shitting his pants after eating chicken wings. Injury to Steele is brutal though, hopefully someone steps up or they can pull a guy in via trade.
I meant in general. I kind of faded after the Bryant/Rizzo/Baez crew moved on and that 2016 team faded off. Really just kind of felt off how that all fizzled out, but meh. Hadn't watched a lot of baseball in the last couple years but I've been enjoying watching this season so far.You were off the bandwagon before 20 games have been played?
Holy crap, how did I miss that hilarious story! 🍗🐔💩🤮I'm dangerously close to being back on the bandwagon fellas. If I’m the Cubs I’m talking to Detroit now about formalizing the trade for Workman. I really like him and what he could be, but he should be playing in AAA for now. The price is not going to be that high, just get it done.Cubs are going to have to take a long, hard look at the Workman situation. I think by the end of the next homestand the Cubs will be deciding on whether they need to move Workman (trade or offer back to DET) or option Shaw back to AAA to make room for Brujan. Injury is the wild card factor - could make decisions easier for Management.
Morgan is irritating me. He’s got a track record of being a competent MLB pitcher. Not elite, but not garbage. He’s been garbage this year. Thanks for your service, Mr. Pearson and Mr. Morgan.
We've got some wonderful parting gifts for both of you. Pick them up in Des Moines.
I went to bed with game tied 3-3 knowing the pen would let us down
checks score when I wake up
Yup
At least they’re apparently letting him fake an injury to save face. Pearson and Thielbar need to develop some blisters and hangnails….Nothing official, but since Morgan left with the trainer last night I’d expect someone to be flying out to SD today.
We’ll see.
He's ahead of the pace that some 3rd baseman named Sandberg was on as a rookie. Is it too soon to make comparisons to Gary Scott and Kevin Orie regarding Shaw?
Ease up a little. They tried to land Bregman. It isn’t like they lowballed him.Nice little mess we have at 3B. Great job as usual, Jed.

Sooooo, didn’t lowball him?The Red Sox offered 10m more per season than the Cubs.

Quite the flurry of activity. Little and Palencia up. Morgan to the IL, and Pearson demoted.
Shaw down, and Brujan activated.
