IA starters, fans in attendance, and number of posters in this game thread so far - very sluggish.

Baer playing great; Clemmons, Uhl, and Gesell playing okay; Everybody else pretty much sleep walking out there.
Well, the good news is they only out-rebounded us by 6 in the 1st half. Good thing we had 9 blocks so we didn't have to see how many of those shots would have went in............................
The hangover of the ISU debacle is evident. Hawks better put it together soon or Drake will pull off the upset.
Hmmm, Baer & Ellingson outplaying Uthoff and Jok so far... I wouldn't have imagined saying that before the beginning of the season.
Hawks would be losing this game w/out Baer...
Hopefully a sign that Fran has learned something too - actually calls a TO to re-set and stop a little mini-run by Drake after IA goes up by 10

To sum it all up. (Just my opinion) We had a typical tough game with an instate rival, set a school record (blocked shots) and came out with a win. This is a good day.
Gesell with a nice put down... Played very well... Can't seem to hit the FTs in the closing stages it seems like.

I think Baer has a future here. Don't know his minutes yet, but 13 pts, 7 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. He'll be OK.

Great win. They beat a very good Drake team who is every bit as athletic as any team they'll see in the B1G. The only bummer is the apologists are correct, we just can't any contribution from our bench. The bench sucked today. Baer and Uhl are not good, too inexperienced to contribute. Also, maybe this will shut the Fran critics up. Great coaching by Fran down the stretch in a close game. 
The bottom line is that it was a win. Getting outrebounded by 8 or 9 to Drake, not so great, but a win is a win.

Baer replaced Woodbury and we got better. I like this kid, he's starting to make me feel better about next years front court with Wagner.Great win. I agree, which is why I think it's amusing people think the bench is terrible and the reason why Iowa has lost 3 games. Uhl, Baer, and Ellingson give Iowa a decent bench. They aren't deep, but deep enough, as long as they stay away from foul trouble.
