Great win. They beat a very good Drake team who is every bit as athletic as any team they'll see in the B1G.

The bottom line is that it was a win.

Great win. They beat a very good Drake team who is every bit as athletic as any team they'll see in the B1G. The only bummer is the apologists are correct, we just can't any contribution from our bench. The bench sucked today. Baer and Uhl are not good, too inexperienced to contribute. Also, maybe this will shut the Fran critics up. Great coaching by Fran down the stretch in a close game.

The bottom line is that it was a win. Getting outrebounded by 8 or 9 to Drake, not so great, but a win is a win.

Drake had their moments and the timmer kid is pretty good, but drake would be in the bottom quarter of the B1G as far as athleticism is concerned, to suggest they are every bit as athletic as anyone in the B1G is laughable.

I agree, which is why I think it's amusing people think the bench is terrible and the reason why Iowa has lost 3 games. Uhl, Baer, and Ellingson give Iowa a decent bench. They aren't deep, but deep enough, as long as they stay away from foul trouble.

I am not nervous at all when these guys come in the game. For the most part they play with confidence and have the capability of making plays and shots when needed.

Didn't see the game, but the stat that bothers me is our rebounding. Hawks cannot keep losing on the boards in the B1G and be successful most games. We compensated by only having 3 TOs against Drake, but that isn't going to be likely against better athletes in the B1G.

This team goes as Uthoff goes. He didn't play in the 1st half because of fouls, he comes back into the 2nd half of the game and they immediately push to a comfortable lead. He's a matchup nightmare for most teams in the country.
