And just like that, the last major of the year is over. Shit.

263 days until the Masters for all of you that keep track.

College football can’t get here soon enough …
Is there anyone that sticks out to you as “this guy is gonna win a major next year”?

I had that feeling with Scottie in 2021, then he got off to a ridiculous start in 2022 and was one of the betting favorites by the Masters.

There are a lot of great young players who have been in to 10’s, but they’re putting just isn’t there. I think Day and Fowler are ripe for a major win in 2023.

I wonder if the heckling was along the lines if "Bloody hell, Hit the damn ball already, mate."

He said in the press conference that a guy told him walking to the 6th tee that he didn’t have the stones to win this Championship.

Said it pissed him off and helped him concentrate.

My bad guesses:

1. Hovland
2. Hojgaard
3. Kim
4. Young

Both Kim and Young learned that the tour is a grind and you have to learn to compete with your B- game.

And my long shot - more likely 2025 - Aberg

Tom Kim seems pretty comfortable on the big stage and has a lot of game.

Rahm and Rory

If you means guys who haven’t won a major I’d say Hovland and Young.

I was thinking Tom Kim too, but didn’t want to be a victim of recency bias. He was the first guy in my mind when I made the posting asking the question. But, he did well in the majors this whole year, not just the Open.

This Sepp Straka fella has some serious game too. Had a backdoor top 10 at the PGA and has been on an ascending path.

Straka is one helluva player. I think he has another 5 years to win a major. A lot of those Euros seem to age slower/ last longer than what the US produces.

incredible stat but…

Hot dog eating apple pie.

Come on Zinger. JFC
Caught that one, but with the time difference I tracked most of the tourney on my phone while golfing with the kid. People really don't like that guy, there's a lot of negative press on him.... I watched most of the weekend US Open coverage and he is terrible. I really wish CBS had the exclusive on all golf, instead of these amateur like productions for big events from other networks that do it part time.

NBC is part time? NBC is The Golf Channel.

That said, yeah, some of these announcers are cringe.

‘Zinger is Miller without the polish. I really don’t mind him. He can come across as a “little cross” uys...the guy has been around the block and KNOWS professional golf. I liked Miller a bit better, though...I thought Miller was almost as good an announcer as Ken Venturi......and Venturi is “Game, Set and Match” as far as golf announcers (Henry Longhurst and Peter Allis excluded) are concerned.

The PGA Tour has notified the R&A and the United States Golf Association that it will not support a proposed modified local rule that would allow tours and tournaments the option to require elite men's players to use a golf ball that will be tested under modified launch conditions to limit how far it is hit, according to a memo PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan sent to members on Wednesday.

The new rules, which will not affect the types of balls that recreational players can buy, would take effect in January 2026 if adopted. The governing bodies are receiving feedback from manufacturers and others until Aug. 14. The governing bodies said the proposed modified local rule [MLR] would reduce hitting distances by about 14 to 15 yards on average for the longest hitters with the highest clubhead speeds.

Jay Monahan says PGA Tour won't support proposed ball rollback

Has anyone ordered golf grips from Amazon? Their prices look good, to real good. But their brands I am not familiar with, except for Winn. Are any of the other brands good?

Many of the grips on Amazon actually come from grips4less, I have ordered from Grips4less numerous times.
What specific brands are you looking at?

Well Champkey has a lot of products so I was kinda looking at them, but again I don't know which brands are good and which ones aren't.

What brand(s) do you like from GFL?
