*****Official Hurricane Dorian thread*****

The outer bands have been spawning some tornadoes in NC. Seeing some damage already.

In Myrtle Beach, we were awakened at 4 am by an emergency alert on our cell phones for a tornado warning. Have received 5-6 so far today. I saw photos of tornado damage in Emerald Isle, NC this morning. Weather is going to be nasty this afternoon and evening.

We still have power, but 100,000 in Charleston County don’t. Winds are strong on the back side of this storm. Plenty of trees down around the city, and downtown, as expected, is flooded.

Any updates from our correspondents in the Carolinas? Are they all knocked offline at this point?

Nope still here was working.

Winds are still kicking along pretty good at 55 or so, gusts a bit higher. But things around here can withstand without much problem. We're probably gonna end up with 10 inches (that's what she said) of rain.

Overall it went better than they were projecting though we got a few more hours till we're clear of the backside of the eye.
