They pulled him after 8 pitches. I'm guessing Iowa sees Kellan Tulio.Penn State is now bringing in Mason Mellott, cross him off the list for tomorrow unless he makes quick work of Rutgers.
Yeah they went to Kohls, who was their next best bullpen pitcher. They pulled him after 8 pitches. I'm guessing Iowa sees Kellan Tulio.
Edit: If PSU loses.
Backer hadn't looked too good either and he had one of his best outings of the year.Yeah they went to Kohls, who was their next best bullpen pitcher.
But it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't still go with Mellott tomorrow, like you said he only used 8 pitches. I hope they do go with Tulio, he hasn't looked good at all. Of course it's up to the Iowa bats to take advantage.

Tied game 4-4. Unreal.
Yes.RU led 4-0 heading to the bottom of the 9th, correct?
Rutgers is lucky we're at this park. That's a walk off home run anywhere else in the conference.RU led 4-0 heading to the bottom of the 9th, correct?

The ball stuck in the glove play was a routine double play. Hugely unluck play for the Hawks. If that doesn't happen and Iowa doesn't miss the pop up between home and first, Mazur, even though he was hurting, would have had about 20-25 less pitches and probably could have gone 7 innings instead of 5.Baseball is a crazy sport, man. Anything can happen. The ball getting stuck in Sher's glove cost us a couple runs yesterday. And hell, what horrible timing (Wed night and into Thursday) for Mazur to be suffering from back spasms
Still waiting to hear on Penn State. Langenberg for Iowa.@KyleHuesmann when can we expect our starting pitchers?
I think Iowa needs to go with Langenberg after thinking it over.
I just posted my reasoning in the lounge, but Iowa's RPI is at 60. A win gets you in the 50's. Then anything can happen. Michigan is a bid stealer you obviously worry about, but if you face Maryland a loss to them doesn't hurt RPI. Season is flat out over if you lose to Penn State again.Still waiting to hear on Penn State. Langenberg for Iowa.
Get a decent Saturday crowd there and let's give the PSU freshman hell.
Love some Michigan payback for the Indy embarrassmentIf we win at 9:00 am, its looking like 4:30-5:00 pm start time for game against Michigan/Maryland winner.
Tix should be general admission!I posted this in the lounge, but I will here too. Anybody thinking of going tomorrow I would highly encourage you to buy tickets online at Ticketmaster. You get to pick your seats on the map. The ticket booths are extremely slow. Quite possible you'd miss the first pitch if you show up 15-20 minutes prior and buy there.
Edit- plus your ticket gets you in all day should Iowa win at 9am. You can scan out and come back once.
That bracket is garbage!!!!Rutgers beats Penn State 5-4 in 10 innings.
One game at a time, of course. Win or go home time now. At the same time, Iowa would have to win their next 4 games to win the B1G Championship.
The 4 games:
(1) game 9 of the tournament, Saturday, 9 am, vs Penn State
(2) game 11, Sat evening (facing either undefeated Maryland or undefeated Michigan from the lower bracket)
(3) game 13, Sunday morning (facing, again, a now one loss Maryland or one loss Michigan team from the lower bracket)
(4) game 14, Sunday afternoon, playing the other remaining team (from the upper bracket) for the B1G Championship
The Bracket from Late Last Night:

But, you still have to swing the bat. Can't get the entire side retired with caught lookings!
Need a little revenge in the morning and you never know what can happen.
