Hi, welcome back to, another week. Solid win and effort by our Hawks last week. I'm sold that outlaw josey Jewell is the heart and soul of our defence. Mustang Mabin will rebound this week and after wake up call last week, smelling the salts if you will. Was glad to see, Akrum receive more carries than Leshaun. No disrespect to Leshaun. But Akrum runs a speed game that is supplemented by a power game good combo that is hard to stop. I don't know much about Iowa state. Keith Duncan looked great and we have all the confidence in the world in him going forward.

Bottom line: defense rebounds this week and we pound them out in the run game.

Not sure about Scheel but I do think a key to this game is establishing our swing passes to Mr. Reliable (Matt Vandeberg) early and often. This will setup our run game and deep ball to Germany Smith.

Correct. If Iowa comes out trying to run the ball they are hosed. ISU is going to sell out on stopping the run. Play action. quick swing passes to Vandeberg and liberal use of Kittle will make them back off. Then we can start running with a few downfield throws mixed in.

Also....having Daniels out worries me...a LOT. The line did not protect CJ very well last week. With a starter out (at the most important line position), they are going to need to step up big time or CJ is going to get killed.

You are correct as well. This is where our reputation as a run team helps us out where we can start out with play action to set up our run game. So, in conclusion quick swing passes to MV and short button hooks to GK will set up our run game.
