Let’s pretend that he doesn’t have multiple legal issues swirling around him. How does someone that purposefully offensive win a seat in Congress? How is it that he will be re-elected this November?
He initially got elected because of his Father (Which is how he got most things). His Father was well loved in the area, so his name (and Daddy's connections) got him into office. He's a swarmy, useless politician... BUT the majority of Republicans here love him because this is Trump Country out here. The only thing matters is owning the libs. Nothing else matters from policy. And he plays that role well.
He's had several legitimate conservative challengers with real credentials, ideas, etc... challenge him in the past and he keeps soundly beating them. Like I said. The area is beautiful, but the politics are terrible.

There are some people working behind the scenes here to put together some real competition to him this election cycle. They just cleared the field of the other major challenger against him so that a Marine Corps Veteran "Mark Lombardo" could run against him.
He's a retired FedEx executive who's looking to spend about 1 million of his own money in this race. I'm not crazy about his politics either, but I'm still a registered Republican and he'll have my vote in the upcoming primary's.
