Leaving aside the criminal behavior, can you imagine the off-the-charts douchebag-ness in this circle of friends?
The Feds generally move slowly, and the potential reasons an arrest has been slow to occur have been discussed. Gaetz has access to money, is a public figure, and his circle of friends is comprised entirely of the top douche bags we all met our first week living in the dorms. They don't make good witnesses. I firmly believe he will be arrested, and that the Feds are absolutely wiring it down tight due to the public spectacle this case will be. Gaetz will make it a spectacle.

Right up until the point in which they all pretend they never met the guy. DeSantis certainly campaigned with him. Gaetz was attached to Trump’s hip for months. MTG even seems to be peeling away.
Apparently Ellicot is saying he was in the room when Greenberg told Gaetz the woman they had paid for sex was only 17 years old.
Gaetz, MTG, and Cawthorn all together in one place. You kind of wish a gas line ruptures in that place, don’t you?
Joel Greenberg has asked for another sentencing delay. It will be interesting to see if it’s granted. I would have to assume he’s given all the help to the investigators that he can.

I thought I heard it was denied. But that may have just been the talking heads today discussion "no one knows why it should be delayed again unless he is REALLY talking to the Feds about something". Al Franken is still wondering why the hell he resigned over those pictures.

He had two very good, very conservative challengers last time with two retired Navy officers with impeccable Republican credentials and he smashed them. This area of the state loves obnoxious Republicans because they "stick it to the liberals". I don't think these charges hurt him with the electorate here although I wish they would. I'd have a bit more faith in them.
It seems like if the prosecution thought he was stringing them along they’d object. He’s going to prison eventually. I can only assume him being on the outside is more convenient for the prosecutor s for now.
Perhaps, but Greenberg will clearly say anything if he thinks it will benefit him. He knows the prosecutors are greedy, and he's clearly trying to appeal to that greed, just as any con man would.
I believe part of why we perceive this to be dragging out for so long is that the investigators aren’t taking everything he says and running with it. He would be a terrible witness under the best of circumstances, but Gaetz will be able to hire good lawyers. The prosecution will want everything they use to be corroborated. Also, it seems like another witness is one of the teenage girls who took money for sex, and now does porn work. That’s another poor witness to go with.

And the fact that the prosecutors have allowed him to continue delaying sentencing should be an indicator that he is providing useful information. @Finance85 is correct in his assessment of the "greediness" of the prosecutors to wring info out of Greenberg, but they aren't dummies (I presume) and by this late date they should have a good idea if his info is B.S. or if it is backed up by corroborating evidence. I do not think they'd allow themselves to be "strung along" for this amount of time if they weren't getting at least some goods.
The biggest difference I have is that I don't assume the prosecutors aren't dummies. If they have just one thing that's solid, they should go with it ASAP. They can add more charges later.
Greenberg sentencing rescheduled a 3rd time. Now in August. And an article on Daddy and Baby Gaetz tangling with the FBI. It's gonna happen this year!!

If Gaetz isn't arrested before June, I'll be really disappointed. Gaetz is getting primaried - 3 other GOP running against him.
In THE_DEVIL's long time on earth one thing he knows for certain is that whether con or lib admins the legal system is so utterly messed up and slow that justice is rendered laughable most of the time. I am saying this equally for both sides of the equation. This is also not an indictment of the vast majority of the people who work in the system.
There definitely seems to be a different set of rules and laws for the political class.

It's for anyone with money and social standing.
Cover enough court cases and it becomes BLINDINGLY clear that there are two justice systems -- one for the poor and non-connected and one for the wealthy and well-connected.
Interestingly, Better Call Saul is perhaps the best fictional portrayal of this reality in television history, although The Wire also did an excellent job illustrating it.
