Idk, the Feds obviously have Greenberg dead to right. Only cut that deal if he brings more corrabting evidence. Paper and electronic trails. The girl was a minor so I'm not certain what legal liability she might have if she stays quiet.
My point was I wouldn't conclude they have her in the "fold". They maybe do or they might use Greenberg to get her to talk. I just don't think the deal with Greenberg was based on her helping or not.

Crossing state lines, and possibly some crimes in the Bahamas, is what drew in the Feds. The Feds also have more resources and take the lead on these cases.

I think the GF will put people in rooms together at certain events. She will prove associations.
The big news for me this week was that Greenberg apparently took a lot of screenshots of conversations held via secured apps.
I still think that someone other than Gaetz gets arrested next. The Feds have the GF and Greenberg, but some triangulation would be nice with another cooperating witness.
They have leverage on Greenberg, but Greenberg has no credibility. The girlfriend is apparently voluntarily cooperating. If she has anything incriminating, she's going to be more credible.
Greenberg may not be credible but his records and photographs should overcome that.
This. Everyone knows he is a scum bag. You don’t cut deals with scum bags facing decades in prison unless they have verifiable information that implicates other people.
So has he been arrested yet or not? I thought someone said his arrest was imminent. Will someone please provide a # of days from today that we can expect an arrest?
Most of the charges against Greenberg had nothing to do with the 17 year old girl. Nearly everything was about his theft of funds and resulting monetary transactions that had nothing to do with Gaetz.
I'm still skeptical about what the Feds have on Gaetz. I still think if they already had a solid case, Gaetz would already have been indicted or arrested. I could be wrong though.
If Gaetz does get arrested, will it be in NW Florida or DC?
Will the trial be in the Northern District (Pensacola) or Middle District (Orlando), or possibly DC, or does it matter in the Federal System?
He pled guilty to the sex with a minor. That’s 10 years in federal prison. They forced him to admit to the one crime that had the highest penalty.
It is clear that the Feds are building a case against someone else, and they are not operating on HROT’s schedule much to the chagrin of some here. Not saying you, just some people. You cannot rush building a good case. Once they indict it’s very hard to tidy up loose ends. I have heard the case would be held in Orlando because the bulk of the crimes associated with Greenberg were commuted there.
I understand what you are saying, but they had him on that anyway. The Feds had his computer searches of her DMV files. It's clear Greenberg found out the girl was 17. It's not clear yet if he told Gaetz once he found out, or later after the girl turned 18, or at all. IMO, that's the crux of the case against Gaetz on that allegation.
The Feds dropped over 30 charges against Greenberg, so they obviously think he's got some value. My skepticism is because of the time already spent on the investigation, and because Greenberg has already been disposed of.
