*** Official Matt Gaetz Arrest Watch Thread ***

I understand what you are saying, but they had him on that anyway. The Feds had his computer searches of her DMV files. It's clear Greenberg found out the girl was 17. It's not clear yet if he told Gaetz once he found out, or later after the girl turned 18, or at all. IMO, that's the crux of the case against Gaetz on that allegation.

The Feds dropped over 30 charges against Greenberg, so they obviously think he's got some value. My skepticism is because of the time already spent on the investigation, and because Greenberg has already been disposed of.
Anyone other than me find it insane that no one has called for the congressman to resign for BANGING TEENAGERS and showing their naked pictures on the floor of Congress - even if not technically illegal because she just turned 18?

I mean, that kind of seems a lot worse to me than some of the things other people have been forced out over. Hell, remember when Gary Hart had to drop a presidential campaign because he had an affair with a grown ass woman?

Yup. He should at least be stripped of his committees.

Most of the charges against Greenberg had nothing to do with the 17 year old girl. Nearly everything was about his theft of funds and resulting monetary transactions that had nothing to do with Gaetz.

I'm still skeptical about what the Feds have on Gaetz. I still think if they already had a solid case, Gaetz would already have been indicted or arrested. I could be wrong though.

If Gaetz does get arrested, will it be in NW Florida or DC?

Will the trial be in the Northern District (Pensacola) or Middle District (Orlando), or possibly DC, or does it matter in the Federal System?
If you're going to charge a sitting congressman on things as serious as what is being reported, you better be 100% sure that all of your ducks are in a row. I can fully understand them waiting until they believe their case is airtight.

I understand that thought. That said, it's not like Gaetz is anything special. There was no issue arresting Corrine Brown (go Gata!), who arguably had a lot more status than Gaetz.

Republicans have long ago given up on actually having any moral stances. I mean it's the whole reason they were supposedly the Christian party, and at a time they actually did live it. Now they don't care who their congress people bang as long as it's not the same sex and as long as they don't publicly support abortion. They won't actually care if they have one of their teenagers get one, but they better say they are against it.

I do not think Greenberg has been "disposed of". He must have had something else to offer, and he is going to be needed to testify against whoever the Feds charge next. That is his value, and why the Feds cut the deal.

Yes, that's part of his deal.

Shoot off an email to MMM and see how your elected member of Congress feels about this member of her caucus, and let us know what she says.

As far as legal stuff goes, probably. We aren't talking about the cops responding to an armed robbery. There is a lot to document, and witnesses who must be interviewed, and maybe have a deal cut with.
I wouldn't want to be in his shoes, would you?
I realize that and I wouldn’t want to be Gaetz

Gaetz wouldn't be dumb enough to try and intimidate a witness, would he?
This would also go part way in explaining what seems like a slow process to some people. I think the investigators are pros, and are doing everything they can to tie down what happened, and then charge people. If Gaetz was intimidating witnesses that explains the hesitancy for some young women to come forward.

Sham charity? HMM, I wonder who else has been involved with a fake charity.

He's enough of a narcissist to believe he's clever enough to skirt the law.

In this case, Gaetz didn't initiate the conversation in question. That doesn't mean he's innocent, but the narrative is probably a little different than what you're saying in your post.

I still contend the evidence the Feds have is too thin for conviction, and they need or want more.

I think there are several reasons this is not happening at a speed HROT is comfortable with:
1. Gaetz is a sitting member of Congress, and that makes it a higher standard.
2. Minors were involved, and they want to protect people.
3. Several of the people involved were also committing crimes, and are reluctant to testify w/o protection.
4. Prosecutors know Gaetz has access to a lot of money, and will have a vigorous defense.
5. Prosecutors know Gaetz will turn this into a three ring media circus, and they want him firmly attached to crimes before they arrest him.

Specifically to this call referenced, I can see someone else initiating a call knowing Gaetz would jump on, but they did it this way to keep his phone # out of the records. He could have figured that was a cunning move on his part.

All very good points. Whoever said arrest was imminent apparently didn't think of those points. Whether Gaetz is arrested, or simply chooses not to run, that needs to be figured out by the end of the year so the First Congressional District can attract a decent candidate. It's pretty much a slam dunk the GOP candidate will win in this district.

Wait two weeks.
At what point do we start to recognize that Chris and his conspiracies are in fact very "Q" like?

Q: the elite have a child sex ring....... we just can't prove it.

Chris: Gaetz has a child sex ring....... I just can't prove it!

Boaf if you are asking me.

Desperate is desperate. He is creating a political persecution defense.
Some talking head on Lib TV pointed out that Greenberg won't be sentenced until August, and his sentencing will most likely hinge on a friendly word from the prosecutors. Maybe he doesn't get indicted. I think he does, but it seems like the prosecutors are going to take their time and get everything in place before arresting him. It's going to be a freaking three ring circus of a trial.

I’m just anticipating the Gaetz v Rebekah Jones debate.

Can’t get here soon enough if you ask me.

My name is not Donald.

It's cool you guys like following along chris's conspiracies. I vote we name him "P", you know kind of a reference to "Q" but also because he is a pisspants.
What? Dude you are the one constantly making remarks to his posts. I am just commenting on what I (and many others) observe.
