*** Official Matt Gaetz Arrest Watch Thread ***

I'm guessing they have everything they need on Gaetz but they continue to let him screw up to trump up (see what I did there) the charges.

If the Feds aren't after Gaetz, then I'd like to know who they are expending so much energy on.
Also, why aren't we hearing from Florida? Wasn't part of the thing that tripped up Greenberg, and drew in Gaetz to all of this was the midnight raid on the office with the ID machine? Wouldn't someone in law enforcement in Florida poke around over this?

I know it's popular to jump into this thread and post, "Imminent"? And, I am frustrated to see this drag along like many of you. But, I will repeat something I've said in this thread before, I don't think any of us would trade places with him, or think that he is in a good place.

Oh I agree, he's effed.

Any day now...

If he wasn't a member of Congress with a rich dad, he'd have been effed by now. I don't think any sensible person on HROT disagrees with that statement, no matter your political affiliation.

I agree, most of my responses in this thread been just because I'm a smart ass.

ummm.....

The Palmer Report is an American liberal[2] fake news website,[11] founded in 2016 by Bill Palmer.[12] It is known for making unsubstantiated or false claims,[17] producing hyperpartisan content,[18] and publishing conspiracy theories,[19][20] especially on matters relating to Donald Trump and Russia.[26] Fact-checkers have debunked numerous Palmer Report stories, and organizations including the Columbia Journalism Review and the German Marshall Fund have listed the site among biased websites or false content producers

At this point I won't believe it until it happens.

I do think that they're going to take their time with anything like this and make certain they completely dot their i's and cross every t. This is a highly popular (At least in his district) politician with ties to a lot of powerful people. And I'm guessing he's linked to several other people in some manner. If you arrest somebody in this situation you better be absolutely certain.

chis.....don't use the palmer report. It's known for BS

The precise origins of the rumor are difficult to pin down, but it had been ricocheting around social media for days before Markey’s interview. The story had no reliable sourcing, and not a single credible news outlet touched it—but it had been fervently championed by The Palmer Report, a liberal blog known for peddling conspiracy theories, and by anti-Trump Twitter crusaders like Louise Mensch. Soon enough, prominent people with blue checkmarks by their names were amplifying it with “Big if true”-type Tweets. And by May 11, the story had migrated from the bowels of the internet to the mouth of a United States senator.

The Palmer report isn't needed for Gaetz going down in flames but noted.

The Right traffics in much more misinformation and disinformation than the Left, but this crap needs to stop.

Don't sink down to their level.

I don’t care if it is accurate. Fight fire with Twitter, that’s what I always say!

There's apparently at least one guy who was disappointed that Gaetz really didn't get arrested as promised by Chis.

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- A man who allegedly threatened to kill Congressman Matt Gaetz over the phone days after the Jan. 6 insurrection was arrested in the Los Angeles area last week, according to POLITICO.

Eugene Huelsman, 58, was arrested on an existing indictment by a federal grand jury in Pensacola from May, according to POLITICO.

The indictment says that on or about the day of Jan. 9, Huelsman called the office of "M.G." and threatened to injure them.

"Tell [M.G.] to watch his back, tell him to watch his children," Huelsman allegedly said, according to the indictment. "I'm coming for him -- I'm gonna [expletive] kill him. I'm gonna put a bullet in you and I'm gonna put a bullet in one of your [expletive] kids too."
