well our running game couldn't pick up a yard just a minute ago. Trying to get the first down to end the half

This game looks like Iowa playing a slightly smarter but slightly less talented version of Iowa.
Execution has been terrible this first half. The defense has been ok and the offense has been putrid (like last year). Better come to play in the 2nd half on offense.

How this season “feels different.” Go into the closet and find my favorite Iowa t-shirt for the game and this is the product we get most years than not.
Yeah, I had been hoping Smith would show some improvement, but he just plays so timidly, not good if that’s the best we’ve got. ISM isn’t much better, but makes a catch occasionally.

We have looked a LOT worse than this in openers before. They're moving the ball some, just haven't punched it in yet. It will happen in the third quarter.
