Looks like we are set for a 2:30pm kickoff on ESPN. There is no way to say it, but this is not going to be easy. You combine Iowa's lack of offense against tOSU DL and Iowa's D running their base against tOSU WR and JT Barrett's running ability. It has the potential to be a long day. Iowa's not going to be able to score with tOSU like PSU could and we wont be able to shut them down. After a night to sleep this one over.

Ohio State - 49
Iowa - 14

Just can't see the Hawks getting blown out. They will be ready to play. That said, tOSU 24- 20

Hopefully we can keep it within two scores for the majority of the game but I have my doubts. This could easily turn into a bloodbath but hoping we can hang around and have a chance late in the game to steal a win.

Would be surprised to see us get blown out - but we do not enough horses to overcome theirs. Plus - Urban just about lost another one - they will be hyper focused towards the playoffs.

Hawkeyes hang around for awhile but defense eventually caves after being on the field 3/4 of the game.

tOSU 27
Iowa 10

Some of these blowout predictions are asinine. We match up well with their offense & their defense has major holes. It’ll be close no matter what. I think us 27-21.

There is NO reason whatsoever, no evidence at all, to suggest Iowa can stay within 30 points of OSU. Sure, anything can happen in college football. We've had a couple of 40-point underdogs win already this season. But it would take an upset of that magnitude for Iowa to beat OSU on Saturday...or even to keep the score respectable.

Remember what Stanford did to Iowa in the Rose Bowl? That's your template for Saturday in Kinnick. Could Iowa win? Yes. But as great as the upset of Michigan was last year, and as awesome as the 59 minute and 56 second victory over Penn State was this year, OSU coming to town off that PSU win is likely to make Hurricane Harvey look like a morning mist.

I hope Iowa wins on Saturday, but then I hope I wake up a billionaire tomorrow, too.

So stupid. Ohio State just edges a team Iowa coulda shoulda beat by 1 pt and you claim “no evidence.” You sir should never serve on a jury or a committee that makes a decision of any kind for that matter.

My apologies. I should have said "the preponderance of the evidence" would indicate that Iowa has no chance against OSU. And you may have missed it, but in my original post I did note that Iowa beat PSU for 59 minutes and 56 seconds. Of course, that didn't work out well because the games are 60 minutes....

You have every right to believe Iowa will beat Ohio State on Saturday even though the eyeball test, and "the preponderance" of other evidence all suggest otherwise. Fantasies can be fun, I'm told, so enjoy yours.

Iowa fan here, living 7 miles from "the Shoe". OSU has a talent/skill advantage over the Hawkeyes so great that if OSU brings their "A game" there is simply no way Iowa can stay with them. A very mobile QB makes Iowa's challenge particularly difficult. Neiman will have to play the game of his life covering the Buckeye receivers... hoping for the best, fearing the worst... OSU 56- Iowa 7, unless temperatures are cold and the Hawkeyes open up the play book and get hot! A win would be like the 1980 Olympic Hockey win over Russia, OMG, I hope it happens some how!

So you think the Hawks can score 27 points on Ohio State, but they can’t even score 20 points against Northwestern or Minnesota?

Okayyyyyyyy.

I suppose it could happen.

And the spread just came out OSU -17 so I stand by my prediction

Over/under is 66. Would definitely bet the under.

42-24? Offense gets 10 and defense gets 2 pic 6s?
Yeah. 42-24 is how it works out. No way we score 24 points. So 56-10 or 49-17 maybe? Don't think so. I'm sure they'll get lots of yards, but don't see OSU scoring more than 42 points against our defense.

As an OSU fan I hope for a 4 TD lead by the middle of the second quarter and I can relax, and even possibly get some years back that I lost this past weekend. But nearly every contending team, including Alabama, gets a scare from a team they shouldn’t. Sometimes that scare even turns into an upset. Why not Iowa?

I know that the mentality of the OSU coaches. I hope that’s the mentality of the OSU players.

I think this game is close throughout:

OSU special teams are terrible right now

OSU tends to make way too many stupid mistakes (penalties, TO's)

Iowa rarely gets blown out, especially at home

My prediction is that OSU finally pulls it out late in the 4th 27-13.

OSU has yet to travel for a "BIG" game this year. This is their 4th road game on the season (@IU, @RU, and @ NE). Home field could help the hawks a little. I thought Barrett was a passing liability for OSU, but he proved me wrong vs PSU. OU made him throw the ball 15-20yd window and he was off. Not last weekend.

If Iowa can get any momentum on Offense it could be huge. Wadley seems to show up in Big Games.

OSU 24

Iowa is always difficult to play at home, and you guys tend to rock your stadium. I'm actually glad this game isn't at night, as I think that would make it even harder.

I think what we saw earlier in the year with OU was Meyer still being hellbent on establishing a downfield passing offense. Now I think Wilson has made it work by attacking the edges and running the ball in order to set up the downfield pass which works much better for a QB like JTBIV.

As much as I like Iowa and would love to see you guys get back to competing consistently for the B1G championship, I think tOSU finally found their mojo. This year is starting to feel a lot like 2014 for Buckeye Nation.

I'm seeing a 42-17 type game, but I could be wrong. I hope whatever happens, both teams walk away without major injuries.

Yeah part of me thinks that it could get ugly for the hawks. But ya never know. I didn't give ISU a snowballs chance in hell upsetting TCU last weekend. But OSU does look like they are putting their offense together and their defense has to be the best in the Big Ten.

I could see it either way. Hopefully its a good game and everyone comes out healthy. GO HAWKS!

You guys are gonna face an uphill battle in this one, only way you win is keeping tOSU to under 24 points. If Barrett is on like he was against PSU it's lights out for your blackout, too much talent to overcome 35-17 Buckeyes.

Of course if you shock the world again, it really wouldn't be all that shocking as it seems you have one of those games every so often with Kirkland at the helm.

Feel like we used our shock the world game mojo against PSU and that this game will be what is usually expected when we play these big time teams. Also feel like the term trap game is going to be used so much throughout the week that it will no longer be considered a trap game
