*****Official Selection Sunday we finally get THE bracket thread*****

I keep hoping it will be the opposite of last year where we won the BIG tourney but bailed early in the NCAA. Would be nice if we bail early in the BIG to make a run in the ncaa!

Do I think they will happen tho - nope. Will basically need to hit 50%+ in back to back games to even have a hope for the sweet 16, regardless of seed. And as noted above, how this team shoots away from home and with a different ball…. I guess it’s possible, and I’ll love it if it happens, but those are some loooong odds!

I hope they prove the odds wrong. But it will be a crazy 180 degree turn from most of their away game shooting this year.

Which #1 seed to you want the Hawks to be paired with 2nd round? For some reason I keep thinking it’s Kansas. I haven’t watched them much this year, and I know they are super talented, but I just feel like that’s the one where there’s a chance.
Alabama would embarass us. Purdue won't happen due to BIG, give me Kansas.

Rather be a 12th seed than 8th through 10th. At least you do not meet a 1 or 2 until next weekend.
But I do not think it will matter where we are seeded.
No doubt about it. Small change we are a 10 which is still vastly better than the 8/9.

Houston probably. They’re super talented and athletic but defense-oriented and play extremely slow. Despite our frustrations against Wisconsin, we’ve done well against defense-oriented teams outside of conference (Virginia comes to mind).

But I also think we’ll be one and done so…

Also, we absolutely can be put with Purdue because we only played them once. And there’s going to be like 4 B1G teams that are 8/9 so someone is gonna have to be in their pod.

Illinois has also only played PU once so they're an option as well.

What a difference a year makes. I was as excited as I’ve been in a while about last years team, this year I’m more meh, whatever happens, happens.

If somehow, someway the Hawks get Des Moines, I’ll laugh at the hilarity of that ridiculous reward…and then immediately buy equally ridiculous overpriced tix!!

For anyone wanting Kansas as the potential 2nd round opponent, its not happening. The Jayhawks are the ONE 1-seed Iowa won't be matched up with, no matter how much the Committee's metrics & info might tell them they should be.

Why? The likely #1 overall seed is not going to be placed into the position of playing as close to a near 'road game' in the second round as could be. Won't ever happen.

Houston with their best player out.

Final hot take: I think Iowa slips to a 10 seed (fortunately)

We only ended up with 4 Q1 wins and still have by far the worst loss by any tournament team.

8/9 game is the overwhelming reality ........

but STILL holding out a lot of hope for a 10 seed.

I’d like Purdue but only if they officiate the 3 second violation. Edey spends 5 or 6 seconds in the lane 75% of their offensive possessions.
