There should be a 'guarantee' that any team seeded lower than a 4 should have no chance to play a near home game in their pod, or even if a bit more than a little distance away, not be allowed to play in their resident state.

And since they were podded that way, Iowa should have ended up podded with Kansas in DSM. Which I figured - going in - there was no way in hell of that happening. ESPECIALLY since Kansas ended up being the 3rd or 4th overall seed.
