They may do the exact same thing, but they tell themselves it's not a lie because the terminology is not identical even though it means the same thing in practice. Fauci denying he funded gain of function research is a prime example.

The levels of mental gymnastics required to accept any of this behavior at face value really is something else. You'd have to be in a cult to buy off on any of this nonsense.
 
If the FBI is admitting to 26 human sources in the crowd, you know it's actually at least 10x that number.
Like nearly every other "right wing conspiracy," it was proven to be true. Turns out Hillary Clinton did fund the Steele Dossier. Turns out the FBI was spying on Trump's campaign. Turns out it was Hunter's laptop. Turns out Hunter was making millions of dollars from China and Ukraine. Turns out Joe Biden was involved with his son's businesses. Turns out Joe Biden isn't fit to run for office again. Turns out Fauci did fund the lab that created the virus.
The list goes on and on.
