Ono to Psu

I will TRY to make this VERY clear and PAINFULLY obvious!!! As I already pointed out. BoKnowSheet the wanna bee mma dork has posted something like. "why aint noone talkin bout us PUSSY kats???? We set rcord blah blah blah....""

The REASON is, EVERYONE is well aware of the TOTAL Horse SHeeeeTTTTT going on over there!!! Your team severally BIT the BALL BAG in B1Gs and NCAAs, yet you won because of the stacked deck and OTHER factors pointed out by anyone paying attention!

IF you had done it the RIGHT way, people would indeed be talking about it!!! I said it L O N G ago, what is taking place in the low lying swamp over there is BAD for Wrestling!!! As ALWAYS, I took heat for it but as ALWAYS I was proven CORRECT!!!!

The great kralure is a D*CK!!! He used Fat$$$Mans slush fund at a criminal university, which looked the other way, to create what is a DISASTER for the sport PERIOD!!!!

B1G MONEY is now the ONLY way to be in the mix for a title and right now you are talking about really only THREEEE teams that can possibly win( add some if you want but I am not seeing it!!!) Most will point to other sports, pro sports, etc...... but wrestling is/was DIFFERENT!!! Took a lot of HARD WORK, building a program. Now it is ONLY about who you can BUY!?!?!??!

Sorry, NO other way!!! You may also try and pretend it was like this in the past??? NO it was NOT!!!!

I am just hoping that the PA kids along with others keep seeing what a LOW LIFE this jerk off is!!! Keep recruiting over your wrestlers please!!! Go out and get some more JAPanese kids and screw the AMERICAN kids!!!
You might need to see a specialist

Where have you been for the last 40 years. American colleges are full of foreign athletes training and competing in the states. Such an small minded view but that seems to the theme here. I am hoping you keep the Brands boys for decades to come. They sure are entertaining.
Read his post again, and then try to list all of the foreign-born wrestlers competing in NCAA DI. Then compare wrestling, a niche sport fighting for its life at many schools, to basketball or whatever other sport you're thinking of, where world and Olympic competition is entirely country-based. This is not apples to oranges.

I love the international exchange that wrestling often fosters, but allowing future competition to train here at the expense of limited USA wrestling funds, and then go compete against team USA is in my view a bad and stupid idea.

LOL...I didn't make it personal. You're upset about something you have zero control over.
That's kind of how message boards work - people comment on things outside of their control.

At least we can agree on my assessment of you.

I’m thinking very critically in thinking he’s instantly in the mix for a title . A guy Ben Askren called the best wrestler in the world about four months ago.

If he’s allowed to wrestle I want him on my team
So as uncritically as possible, got it.

LOL, let the lying cheating POS the great Krailure cut his own neck!!!! MORE will leave the happy low lying swamp land now!!!

BoKnowsSheet their former jerk off is posting, "why isn't anyone talking about us??????" LMAO- because ALL real fans understand what BS you have going on over there!!!

Used Fat$$$Mans slush fund to BUY championships PERIOD!!! Using "other stuff" for performance!!
How many wrestlers have LEFT f*** st and went on to WIN NC or AA now??? This CLEARLY shows you what I have said. It was NEVER about great coaching. It was about STACKING THE DECK !!!!

BUBBA, SORIANO were NC, Beard, the BearClaw kid this year, list goes on and on!!!

Hoping for some DE-COMMITS SOON!!!!!
That failure as you call him won again by a wide margin. And he doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

JFC at least get names correct if your going to try and be big brain Ironturd. If you don't want people to know you suck at your job, don't suck at your job. Do better GIA.
Barr finished higher than Beard and Messenbrink finished higher than Barraclough. So I’m not getting his point. I don’t think he is either.

Historical note; old timers on this board will recall Japanese greats Yojiro Utetake and Tadaaki Hatta wrestling for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Both wrestlers were NCAA Champions. Utekake was an Olympic Gold Medal winner, and Hatta a World Champion.

I believe Hatta lived in the Chicago area, and for many years he was a fixture at the annual Midlands Wrestling Tournament. Hatta was always recognized for his wrestling achievements by the attending wrestling community.

It makes no sense to me to bring in foreign wrestlers to American colleges to train them to beat our American wrestlers at Worlds and the Olympics. I guess that is just me. Ono isn't going to get better for the Olympics by wrestling college folkstyle wrestlers, so this really hurts the American freestyle wrestlers if you ask me. If you donate to the NLWC are you hoping your money is spent to train Ono to beat whoever he faces from the United States in future freestyle events while representing Japan?
Maybe, and just work with me here, Penn State’s COLLEGE wrestling team will benefit by having a guy in the room with the skill set Ono has. Maybe it’s not some plot to undermine US freestyle wrestlers’ chances to win Worlds and the Olympics but to maintain the high level of wrestling partners in Penn State’s room. Maybe if Ono is in the US he’ll compete in the freestyle competitions held here, giving US wrestlers an opportunity to face him and get a feel for what they’re up against. And what does it matter anyway since the HWC is clearly superior to the NLWC - at least that’s what I read on this board - so Ono’s presence there will have no impact on Hawkeye wrestling.

I have made my view clear. Do you think Iowa should start recruiting world medalists to compete at the NCAA level? Do you think that would benefit college and USA wrestling?
My understanding is that Penn State’s / NLWC did NOT recruit Ono. Ono approached them about training at the NLWC and, like any other wrestling organization would have, they enthusiastically agreed. It’s my further understanding that Ono has been a longtime fan of Penn State’s wrestling and wanted to wrestle there.

Japanese Freestyle Wrestler Masanosuke Ono Joins Penn State Wrestling in Unprecedented Deal

State College, PA – March 24, 2025

In a stunning addition to an already dominant wrestling program, Japanese freestyle wrestler Masanosuke Ono has officially joined the Penn State Nittany Lions. Ono, a rising star in international competition, brings a wealth of experience and technical mastery to the program led by legendary head coach Cael Sanderson. However, in an unexpected twist, Ono’s contract with the team includes an unusual stipulation: he must supply Sanderson with unlimited quantities of soy sauce for the duration of his tenure in Happy Valley.

The agreement, reportedly the first of its kind in collegiate wrestling, was finalized after Ono expressed his desire to train under Sanderson, widely regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers and coaches of all time. While details of the contract remain largely confidential, sources close to the program have confirmed that the deal hinges on Ono’s ability to provide an uninterrupted flow of premium soy sauce to Sanderson’s personal stockpile.

“Penn State wrestling is about commitment, discipline, and making sacrifices for the team,” Sanderson said in a press conference. “Masanosuke understands that, and he’s willing to go the extra mile—both on and off the mat. Plus, I do love a good soy sauce.”

Ono, known for his lightning-quick takedowns and impeccable mat awareness, seemed unfazed by the arrangement. “I am honored to join this program, and if Coach Sanderson wants soy sauce, then soy sauce he shall have,” Ono said through a translator. “I look forward to wrestling at the highest level and ensuring that no meal in State College is ever bland again.”

Though it remains unclear exactly how Ono plans to fulfill the soy sauce clause, rumors suggest a partnership with a top-tier Japanese distributor may be in the works. Some fans have speculated that Sanderson’s newfound affinity for soy sauce could influence the team’s post-match meals, potentially leading to a culinary shift in the Nittany Lions’ training table.

Regardless of the contractual quirks, Ono’s arrival is expected to strengthen an already formidable Penn State squad. Wrestling insiders believe his presence could give the team an even greater edge in their pursuit of another NCAA championship.

As for Sanderson’s soy sauce stash, only time will tell if Ono can truly keep up with demand. But one thing is certain—Penn State wrestling just got even more interesting.
I did not know The Onion had local editions.

it isn't an excuse it is a fact. And, majority of wrestlers use some sort of performance enhancer not just PSU. So get over yourself please.
is considered a PED. There are many things that boost performance but I don’t think many guys are using anabolic at a college level. Not saying it’s zero, but there’s this thing about people suited for a sport sticking with it, getting better, and maybe make it to college.

It’s an obvious point, but there are 10 weight classes and wrestling and how many various athletic guys do you have a weights of 125 to even 174 pounds at college? How many guys are going to be on a college football roster at 175 and under? How many basketball players are gonna be in a sport like that? Your average size athletic guy would probably be in the 184 to 285 class.

And with 10 starting spots on a team and no real rotation during a contest, you’re gonna have a limited amount of regular size guys in the sport. You’re gonna have fellas that excel that will be explosive, but they will be at certain weights.Look at Ben Keuter a D 1 football player.

What other sports would most wrestlers be able to excel at at a D1 level? Possibly gymnastics? Maybe track and field at certain events, maybe even cross country if they choose endurance. I’m sure a few could play baseball. But there aren’t that many athletic choices for guys that weigh 125-184s .

So you’re getting a certain kind of body type that’s going to excel at wrestling, they will be naturally strong, flexible, and very athletic but a certain size. You’re getting people very prone to high levels of natural strength and quickness.

Jim Wendler wants wrote and wanted a better power lifters or former college wrestlers because very few people have their natural level of strength from all the training they’ve done for wrestling. He mentioned one former college wrestler who banged out for your 50 glute ham raises the first time he tried the exercise.

It’s a very difficult exercise at first for most people. But wrestlers are going to be naturally strong.

The NCAA website clearly states that drug tests are given at all three levels Div I, II, and III at the national tournaments AND with one day notice during the season.
Rec drugs only. Not sure how to make that any more clear. It's a simple, quick urine panel test.

The 5 panel would test for. Cocaine, methamphetamines, barbiturates, amphetamines, and marijuana. I can easily find out if it's 5 panel. The urine screen doesn't test for performance enhancers.

There is a decently high percentage that fail the THC, but no real punishment for first time offense. When I say decently high I'm talking across all sports. I never asked how many fail in wrestling.

A LITTLE fun!
You do realize recruiting is the #1 job of any college coach, right?
UH, maybe NOW it is because of the great Kraler it is now BUYING!!!
And don’t call me in the morning!
NO ONE calls you!!!

The SUM is GREATER then the parts!!!! TOTAL picture is where this POS Krailure has SCREWED USA wrestling!!! TRUTH hurts, guy NEVER won on a level playing field!!! Has to bring in champions at a rate of 5 TWOOOOO 1 or greater!!!

I do hope the POS ncaa does investigate finally!!!Time for them to get busted!!!

You were ahead of your time. One thing I've been thinking about though is that all American wrestlers must transition from Folk to Freestyle but I don't ever remember an accomplished Freestyle guy transitioning to Folk at this level. It will be very interesting to see how Ono does in all three positions, especially bottom. I know he is a great athlete but almost everyone struggles on bottom for a couple of years. We will see.
It will be interesting to see the transition but he has a year to get ready to get off the bottom and I imagine he has been wrestling off bottom since he got here. He certainly will be a good case study for future foreigners coming to the states

Also, I think you and many others here are being continually got by one of the most effective troll jobs in the history of the Internet.
You know what I think you are probably correct on that. Because if a person felt that way and was that miserable they would need help stat.

My bad.
Fish on!

Iron - Weren't you banned from posting for 30 days for a lost bet??

An athlete from a foreign country should not be allowed to train and compete in the United States of America unless they become a citizen and represent the USA in athletics.
Any way you look at it, a foreign athlete being allowed to train long term in America and then compete against the USA is wrong.
I do believe it should be allowed, if a foreign team or individual(s) wanted to do a short-term week to a month training in the US but nothing longer than that.
I 100% believe if you are a US citizen and decide to compete for a different country, you should live and train in that country full time.

I had a Chinese grad student TA in physics who couldn't speak a damn word. We bitched about this in the 80s. Ono probably reads it better than speaks it because I could understand him better than Long Duc Dong or whoever my TA was.
in my experience, international students often can read, write, and understand english WAY better than they can speak it

i think half the time its just a confidence thin

Opinions are a funny thing because it has not been this way as long as I can remember. I'm going back to the late 60s and I'll bet you'd think it's ok if Ono was in Iowa City.

I don't get how it's accepted you can allow a 27-year-old freshman, who just so happens to be the World Champion into Penn State. Penn State is turning into the Miami Hurricanes of the 80s. I don't the kid will ever step foot in the classroom. Shady stuff going on in Happy Valley.

He’s 21, he was born 2/10/04. Most freshmen have redshirted in high school making them 19 plus their first year on campus.

He may not be the only one who didn't step into a classroom. Math and English not high on your priority.
