Ontario PM slapping 25% surcharge cost to US electricity buyers on top of 25% tariffs; Wow trump started this rumble

You lost. Get over it.
it's pathetic all these people do is cry about donald trump. I'm glad he's sticking to his guns because there isn't a damn thing he could say or do that would elicit a positive reaction from them except dying. Poor kid with cancer couldn't get them to do something positive. These leftists on this board are whackadoos. Each and every one of them. But it's been fun watching their heads spin.

Delusional auto-bot reply. Look in the mirror.

what do you mean? we all remember how trump and his supporters just politely stayed off to the side, providing muted, measured criticism of Biden only when absolutely necessary
And I seem to remember your side being in as much if not more denial… especially about Joe’s mental state. That’s how we wound up with Trump 2.0. You guys refused to see what was in front of you. Just like with the Covid shots, just like the border, just like inflation… all those things were true and you just denied denied denied.

Well, welcome to the hell your side helped create. Calling Trump literally Hitler over and over wasn’t enough to keep enough moderates voting blue.

Are ypu referring to Filthys squirt gun.

Let me ask you something… Do you think Canadians are happy with their government?

They were definitely not in love with the liberal party before the tariff announcements. The conservative party was projected to win in a landslide.

Now..................................not so much.

No one is ever totally happy with their government, but Trump's flex has very much helped the Liberal Party get back into the mix. There is no other reason.

China is now hitting Canada with tariff's in retaliation to tariff's Canada put on China. Tariffs placed on China 4 months ago. (Before the election) 100% tafiff's by China.

Canada has an additional carbon tax hitting April 1st. How about another 20% increase to all their citizens for energy use. This is doubling over the next 5 years. Costing every Canadian an aveverage of $627 already yearly.

Canadian Dollar just hit a 21 year low and may set a 50 year low within the next 30 days. This drop negates the US 25% tariff.

Now as far as electricity, just look at the legislation New York has passed in the last few years. ( You all can dig into the other states thus affects)
Hochal's and Cuomo's policies have made using the largest Natural Gas reserve in the world as an energy source for electricity off limits. Closing 19 natural gas and nuclear power stations. Moratorium on new construction. All legislative actions to promote green energy.. To top it off Canada's energy produces more carbon but due to these regulations is not counted against a New York business for using. You can't make this stuff up.

A Centrist Government in Canada would have this worked out in the first week of Trumps presidency. Yet here we are, Trudeau is not a centrist. (And a lame duck) You all seem to forget how close Canada came to separating as a country in the not to distant past. There are significant portions of Canada that are disgusted with the direction Canada has gone. The Canadian people are having there own movement to watch.

Will revisit down the road to see if both countries have learned anything. Clearly I have a more optimistic view that Canada will adjust then I do that New York will tap into its enormous supply of energy and make its own electricity, or start harvesting lumber, making steel again. The tax base is crumbling in New York due to legislative action, NYC will once again have to shoulder this burden and it is only fitting for anyone that lives their to pay more.

Well no wonder they grew up the way they are. Just teachers, a nurse and a janitor in their schools? 😜

Your logic is strange to me. You grow up under the idea ALL politicians are crooks, but then you blame the Dems solely for not having principles? Not all politicians are crooks and just because some Dems are (of this I have zero doubt) doesn’t mean it makes sense to actively embrace corruption as THE strategy as the GOP has.

I dont "blame" them, I've been surprised how quickly they have forgotten how currput these people are as we get information. That 200k and 50 million was common sense until the world went dumb with team politics. Make no mistake, I know that Republicans are currput and will be caught as part of this also.

Fair. I just don’t see any equivalency between what the Trump/Musk corrupt government is doing now and what the run of the mill corruption we see from other “mainstream” Dems/GOP. It’s like one group is caught speeding and we never hear the end of it from MAGA. The other is behaving like the goddamned joker from Batman and it is excused.

The level of corruption we see from Trump has no parallel in modern American politics.

I could understand the "deal with the devil" aspect of this but I would ask you to consider this, if Musk and Trump are so corrupt, how come they are losing their ass everyday?

After a certain point power and control is a more valuable commodity than money. Musk could lose his ass like this for years and still be insanely wealthy.

Plus if you have the cash to invest during the downturn you can make crazy returns. Especially if you have insider information. Wanna bet a bunch of these guys loaded up on Altair before they just announced they are getting bought by Siemens?

you don't see any equivalency? none? I mean pardoning your crackhead son...sending billions of dollars to what was regarded as the most corrupt government on planet earth just a few short years ago without reciprocity and no way of knowing where that money went?

None?

I mean it's cool to be on team blue, but none?

except the last 4 years and now these 2 months are all Trump's fault. 3 years into Biden's presidency and Trump caused the inflation that got the dems voted out. Trump was being blamed for EVERYTHING. We had a "but Trump" in EVERY thread... even stuff that wasn't political usually only took a handful of posts before the "but trump"

I know you were here on this board and witnessed it, but I guess you have political amnesia.

I already said there are crooked Dems. But it is no where near the scale of what is happening with Trump. You are living in a bubble if you cannot see it.

As to your examples - Ukraine was regarded as a crooked country when the former regime was in place. Hunter should never have been pardoned and I consider Biden a piece of shit for doing so. I have always been in the camp that Hunter should do whatever time is required for his crimes. That guy is deeply disturbed.

And I would contest that what we have seen in the last 150 days shows the president is a figure head and the power and control are held by people most of us don't know the names of.

1.4 billion dollars in 100 days for a lady that less than 2% of the voting base actually liked when they had options. That's the power and control group throwing its weight around.

His name is Musk apparently. Putin seems to figure prominently as well.

As to whatever other nameless demons you believe exist - it would seem to be the usual collection of tech bros and wealthy financier types. I don’t see a hidden cabal of nameless overlords anymore than I see a bunch of lizard men controlling the world.

Typically, he goes by George Soros.

For an all powerful overlord that Soros guy sure does suck at being both all powerful and an overlord.

But you are a good soldier for believing the bullshit force fed to you by OAN.

Respectfully, you are speaking out of both sides of your mouth. Eloon is the devil and isn't focused on money, just power, but yet his sucking is different at taking over everything.

Personally, I think what we need to do is just be MUCH more open about where campaign "donations" come from.

You are making no sense and just spewing bull shit at this point. As an FYI the dems forced Biden out. he dems did some really stupid things that I disagreed with, but nothing even close to what is happening under Trump. I didn't want Kamala as VP. I didn't want Biden to run a second term. I was in favor of other candidates over Kamala until the window got too short. I absolutely would still have taken Kamala over this shit show.

The economy was actually on a solid track after what could have been a disaster. The US economy had lowered inflation (best in developed countries), was growing and had low unemployment. Our debt was an issue that needs attention. I've supported the idea of DOGE, but the way they are carrying it out is just flat out wrong. The leadership of Trump in both style and substance has been erratic which is trouncing markets. The market was due for a pull back after multiple years of growth, but not to the levels we are seeing.

Trump is driving us toward stagflation and a potential recession. He's going the wrong direction environmentally. He's using up the goodwill and equity we have with allies for not much in return. Trump is the republican party right now. All of that is their fault. Take a look at every single economic metric over Biden's 4 years and figure out if things were improving. Yes there was going to be a pullback at some point, but what we are seeing now isn't that. It's a complete reversal that is being driven by shitty leadership that could potentially spiral into really bad outcomes that will take a decade or more to recover from.

100% agree on campaign finance reform. Much of our current problem began with Citizens United.

Relative to Elon I think he cares less about the current correction as he has the capital to invest in a downturn plus he plays a longer game. But the power available immediately is tangible to him so he seems to be seizing the moment despite potential short term economic downside.

Not sure that is talking out of both sides of my mouth, but I will admit the behaviors are so bizarre it is hard to understand a logical motive. Then again maybe that is par for the course for a ketamine addled genius who may or may not be bought by Putin.
