Offense looks good against the second unit. Not so great against the starting defense.
Cade hasn’t played in any of the live 11 v 11 so far. He played in some of the 7v7 endzone stuff. Quarterbacks have all looked good just very little separation to throw the ball.
Yea. Scott’s pretty spot on. Labas threw a bomb for a touchdown. And then a pick six next throw. I’ve been impressed by the quarterbacks.
It was hard for me to really determine when the first team offense was out there. Cade hasn’t played any 11v11, neither has Kaleb Johnson, All maybe a couple snaps. I think maybe Deacon Hill was taking first team reps but not sure.
Absolutely pulling for Spencer to succeed as a coach, as that is where his best long term shot at football is. He's well spoken and has great football knowledge.
As we saw in his inconsistent play the last few years.... There's a big difference between knowing football and DOING.... Football 😃
Yea. I wasn’t great with the numbers for receivers. But I think Vines was the only scholarship guy out there.
I can actually appreciate this. While he had his obvious physical & mental limitations with the game, he seems to know how to express how it needs to be done. Hope it translates to coaching for him.
He looked like a #2 to me also. And good frickin luck stopping him on a QB sneak. My gawd he is a big QB.
I honestly feel pretty good about our O, WRs included if we can get that line fixed! And if we can’t BF & George both have to go….

Labas had two fumbles snaps under center. Not sure if center issue or him though.
More so on Kirk for not doing a game instead of the glorified practice. If Iowa did an actual spring game I’m sure they’d probably do something or least air it sometime.
I don't care that Kirk says he's the #2 QB, there is ZERO chance he sees the field this year.
Have we ever gotten a straight answer as to why Kirk is so scared to actually play a Spring game vs running a bunch of lame ass drills? I mean a real answer.

Many many times. Injuries and lack of time to individually work with players. Mostly injuries.
Hold down the chance of more injuries every year maybe?
Well......that would be ideal, but I wouldn't put money on that.
One healthy schollie receiver. Man the sun needs to shine on that position someday. Although, given the lack of depth and I understand why they wouldn't risk even the slightest injury.

I think the last one I remember seeing on TV or even caring enough to watch was in 2017, Nate Stanley's first year as starter.

He thinks a normal practice is more valuable than the tiny amount of attention a scrimmage brings.
I don’t remember him catching much in 11v11, but Cade and him had a beautiful 7 v 7 hookup for a touchdown. Some type of deep out I think. It was a beautiful throw and catch.
