Iowa has opened as a ten and one-half point underdog. This seems reasonable but certainly not so large that Iowa does not have a chance to pull the upset. Hears hoping these young men can play their best game and win. But win or lose this team in really fun to watch and do a great job of representing Iowa basketball. GO HAWKS

I here you!!

Hope we can pull it out, but as others have said, this is like the Iowa- Marquette game last year-- except this year we are Marquette.

I think the Hawks have a 50-50 chance, as I believe they will really be up for this game against a big name program. They have an offense, just need to tighten up the defense. I have however only seen the Seton Hall game this year and I tend to be an optimist.

My heart says Iowa has a punchers chance but my head says Virginia by 20+.

We are not ready for the prime time and what Virginia does defensively and physicality wise.

Good experience for these guys but will be tough to watch.

Considering it is Virginia boringball, that's a huge point spread. I haven't looked, but I would guess the over/under to be around 115. I would guess Probably a whopping 64-51. Smothering, fouling defense will be this game. Iowa cannot make the free throws necessary to win...

I do look for this to be a big learning game for the young Hawks on the defensive end tho. It should prove to have longterm gains. At least I hope so anyhow.

Bennett ball sucks. No two ways about it.

as one Virginia fan posted...this will be "their" first test against a quality opponent unless you consider Yale a quality opponent. They also kicked off their team recently one of their top big guys. Its not like we are playing on their home court.

5% chance? ... that's not much faith.:(

Donbest currently shows it at 140.5

Virginia is averaging over 75 PPG this season.

Yeah 115 is low. And we can't play defense.... But 75 PPG is quite high for Bennett. However, we can't play defense. So, they might go higher than that.

You know they are going to drive it down the lane. Until our bigs can learn to stop them smaller guards and forwards, the points in the paint will be painful to see.. Cook, Uhl, Pemsl & Kreiner have a ways to go. That and we need to get in front of players before they even attempt the dribble drive. Jok especially.

While I don't give us much of a chance, there is still a chance.

That chance would involve a lot of the ball bouncing our way and insane shooting while we get out to a GIANT lead. Then, we hold them off to win by one.

We could, at the very least, ruin their season by letting them think they are an offensive juggernaut. We're currently that bad defensively. I hope we are better tonight.

D'oh! 74-41. 115.... That had to be painful to watch. I had hoped we would get into the 50s.... Let's see if we learn anything from this annihilation.
