Not in exactly those words but pretty darn close, and not at all disguised.

Basically he talked about how awful and ugly the treatment of Bork and Thomas were and tried to say that he would oppose hearings on any Obama nominee to prevent that sort of thing from happening.

Not too hard to read between the lines. Since only the Republicans would be inclined to do that, he's saying that the Republicans WILL do that if Obama goes ahead and hearings are held.

Check for yourself on tonight's PBS Newshour.

I must again point out that six Republicans voted against Robert Bork. He disgraced himself during Watergate and was an inflammatory nominee for many reasons. I would say it was Reagan's fault for nominating him, but by February of 1988 it's unclear how many of the big decisions he was making.

Yeah. Cons like to wield the term "borked" as though Bork deserved the appointment and evil libs denied him his rightful place on the Court.

I'm sure some right winger will come by eventually and deny this, or somehow claim that six Republicans voting against a Reagan appointee is not significant.

Only 42 senators voted to confirm Bork. 6 Republicans voted against him. John Chaffee, Bob Packwood, Arlen Specter, Robert Stafford, John Warner, and Lowell Weicker.
Bork was a deeply flawed candidate from the beginning and a more moderate candidate would have been confirmed the first time. Apparently someone was itching for a fight.

To be fair, I doubt even one of them could be elected today as a Republican. So while that was certainly a bipartisan rejection of Bork, none of our cons here is likely to admit that through the lenses they wear today.

Its Orrin Hatch. U act surprised.
Every blue moon or so Hatch is reasonable. This could have gone either way with him. But, no, I'm not surprised. Probably 90-10 that he would come down on this side.

Where I was surprised is that there was so little subtlety to his pronouncement. While he wasn't as blatant as some Rs have been, he didn't seem to care if he was being obvious.

And that's something that has been bothering me in general for a few years. More and more the crooks and corrupt politicians seem to feel that they don't need to hide. They are going to get away with whatever they want to do. Their power is nearly consolidated.
