Trump threatens to sue Iowa pollster, newspaper

4+? So, you are in the "the 22nd amendment" doesn't exist group too, eh? I mean, if we can just ignore the Constitution whenever it is convenient then what's the point on even having one?
It's not like Joe Biden cared about the constitution or the supreme court... I mean from jab mandates to student loan forgiveness, it's not like the democrats have a brick to stand on here.

There's something of a responsibility to the public to get it right, or at least be within the margin of error. It's okay to be wrong, it's not a crime to be wrong, Which is why he's threating to sue which his a civil action not a criminal one.

The paper has a responsibility to check their work before it goes to print/release. I don't think Trump has a case here because he ended up winning so he wasn't harmed.
I agree journalists ought to have integrity of that sort, but I just don't see a link between someone getting a poll wrong and it causing harm in the actual election.

Polls can be a mechanism for voter suppression. People want to feel like their vote matters, it's why most people don't vote third party, it's just throwing your vote away. It's the same reason why voting results aren't factored until the polls close and states aren't called by media sources until the polls close even though we could call California for the D in January, we don't because it could seen as voter suppression.

So if a poll is released (especially from someone who has the reputation of doing them well like Seltzer) it could impact people's decision to vote or not.

Prior to this election, not one person questioned Selzers integrity, not do they have reason to do so now.
I don't, and in fact, i think her publication of the oddball results reinforces it rather than undercuts it. Honestly, i'd have been fine if that's where it ended. But I have to say, the immediate departure for 'new ventures' didn't/doesn't quite smell right to me.

I’ve heard it mentioned she’d been thinking about moving on regardless, but when your last job goes that badly there’s no way to exit gracefully in that scenario.

Certainly a plausible scenario, and reassuring to hear that. As you say, if that's the case, it's almost impossibly hard to imagine worse possible timing for the sole major outlier at the height of your career.

It is being reported that Daycare Donald has filed suit.
I guess he took a day off from fighting inflation.
This isn't anything close to a joke.

It's just part of what will be an ongoing effort to muzzle and/or shut down any media that dares print anything negative or that they perceive as negative about Trump.

They will do this via this route and when they get control of the government via the government.

Fascism 101, and it's here in the USA, we're about to find out who is going to resist it. It's absolutely pathetic that the Dems are continuing to be silent about this and all the other ongoing outrages from Trump and crew.

Gee whiz, wonder if they'll be suing or trying to shut down Fox News--oh yeah, Fox News has already said in court they're not a news organization.

No. Nate Silver discussed this at length. Someone getting it so wrong is what you should expect in the polling process. Every poll shouldn’t be within one standard deviation. The numbers say there should be outliers.

No, you made a claim and I'm asking you to back it up with proof. Obviously that is impossible so you move on to personal attacks. Just admit that you made shit up and move on.
Alreadt linked the case in the Harvard Law Review link I posted genius.

They by the way take the government to task on the case. The Harvard Law Review calls the case bullshit. Notorious magats at Harvard on the law Review.

So you weren't being deliberately obtuse and are just stupid. Not surprised

lol… like predicting the weather, we should expect them to get it so wrong some times because science or something

you do know that a scientific poll and your opinion are different things right?
No. I could have looked at relevant statistics, past performances, the weather forecast... And come up with a solid reason to predict Iowa would win.

So i finally tracked down a copy of the complaint (on Variety, of all places). it is hilariously bad.
Lawyers by nature are of low character, but I am always shocked when someone puts their name on something like this for Trump. There should be immediate ramifications for wasting the time of the court.

How soon until Trump sues SNL for making jokes about him?
I also saw today that Trump is mumbling about juror indiscretions in his Manhattan trial. Should he be sued for making a false statement, and deliberately attempting to undermine the fair administration of justice in our country?

Sorry, I don't read every piece of gibberish you post. I just asked a simple question. Which cases prosecuted people for posting memes online? And you had to come in like a complete asshole just because....well, because you are a complete asshole I guess. Completely unable to have any sort of adult debate. The fact that you've devolved this to personal attacks for no reason whatsoever further proves why scouring your dick with a steel brush would be more fun than this conversation is. So, yeah, GFY.

Bins will chime in soon, but it'll be about how shitty Kamala is, so basically that evens out what Trump is doing here. Both sides.
She was the worst candidate ever. What else could he do? He'll be along when Eloon and Vivek announce that it's time for veterans to stop getting a free ride.

Poll proved to be very off, enough to suspect something fishy. But sue her for it? You won. The poll was just a poll. Who cares?

If we're using this logic Nate Silver should be in Guntonamo Bay for his 2016 F up. Also a poll saying Trump was up big in Iowa would drive more folks to the poll who didn't want him to win. Saying Harris was up big kept everyone supporting her at home
