OT: Born to UNI

Because they were small? Or because they weren’t that good? Wes Washpun did just fine there.
Washout was a freak of an athlete. He might’ve been 6’1” or so, but could jump as high as anyone.

Ali Farokhmanesh was probably 6’ or 6’1” and did just fine.

Just an off the cuff prediction, but I think Born (even though he’s on the smallish side) will do just fine. He’ll be more of a playmaker and distributor than the big time scorer he is now in HS. His game reminds me a bit of Mike Gesell.

How tall was the guy(name not remembered) who got his pic in SI for helping beat Kansas with his threes.

About 2-3” inches taller than Born. Not saying born won’t be good it’s just a demanding defensive system for someone without bulk or height. He will obviously have the ability to fix one of those traits.

For every Ali there’s a half dozen small guards that didnt do much.

I googled Ali listed at 6’0’’, Born listed at 5’11’’.

I was standing next to Bowen last night and he is more like 5’9, possibly 5’10. Then again I don’t think a inch or two matters . He will do a good job at uni.

On paper it looks like a good match between player measurables/skill set and level of competition.

In my opinion he is a great player. I think he could compete in the B1G but might excel in the MVC. He is really tiny so that will work against him if he doesn't grow.
