OT: DMRag's "Cyclone State" propaganda

Iowa State: the flaming car wreck you just can't keep your eyes off of since 1889

Sometimes a fan base gets exactly what it deserves. 8 wins in 3 seasons, fired their head coach, and the in state rival couldn't be sucking up any more oxygen. Stuck in a conference where they have to play 9 games and they are thee bottomfeeder. Stuck with a head coach that never built a program before. Stuck with a coach that has no connections to a viable recruiting ground (good luck recruiting Michigan and Ohio kids btw). This fool is trying to recruit Alaric Jackson for chrissakes.

ISU will be stuck at home this winter while Iowa gets to go to a conference title game and at worst, a NY6 bowl. Eat your heart out little brah.

That really isn't a bad point, but it isn't quite accurate. The record, not counting the loss to Iowa, because duh, of the home opponents in the BIG was 8-23.

But it further accentuates Iowa's success on the road, beating BIG conference record of (not counting loss to Iowa): 6-1, 6-1, 2-5, 3-4 = 17-10. Sure, not great, but beating two top 25 teams in conference on the road. Iowa beating MSU adds another 7-1 to that.

No doubt the home schedule was lackluster, the teams Iowa beat went on to further disappoint, but Pitt was solid with potential to be top 25.

Cyclones crowing about their oh-so-difficult Big 12 faced 5 conference teams combining for a 10-27 record (not counting ISU), but they did play the top 4 who were 26-6. We get that, but you should have lost those, right? So why do they count for much? Grant yourself those wins. You won two of the others vs that 10 win 5-some. Congrats.
I thought he was talking about attendance.

Just keep winning......your schedule is the anchor around the neck playing the B10 juggernauts such as Maryland, Purdue, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and avoiding Mich, OSU, MSU.......I am amazed the hawks didn't play Rutgers since they caught all of the other B10 bottom feeders.

We kind of DID play Rutgers....they are called the Cyclones

If ISU was 12-0 (the same season hell freezes over) and Iowa was 3-9 last thing I'd being doing is going to an ISU message board and try and downplay their schedule in which they beat every team on it including my own team at home none the less and brag about an AD who gets in twitter arguments with tix holders or has a press conf after a game to whine about the officials. But to each his own.

Especially if my dumpster fire of a program has had only won 8 games in their last 36. To put it in perspective after Iowa beat Indiana this season it eclipsed ISU's win total of the last 3 seasons.

Even if the big12 is as good as clone fans say. What does ISU have to do with it?They are not contributing to their success by being a doormat.

Say what you will about Pollard, the guy understands media and knows how to get in the news. For him to be able to steal mindshare this week is remarkable.

Yes being portrayed as a jack wagon across the nation is always a good move. It speaks to the DB culture that is in place at isu.

Unbelievable.

Why would anyone find Pollards behavior "unbelievable"? Apparently being a douche is just the isu way. Pollard has a long history of this.

Maybe Pollard should call a press conference and scream about how unfair it is that Iowa went 12-0 and no one is paying attention to little bro isu.

The derp is strong with this one!

December 30, 2011 Pinstripe Bowl Rutgers 27 isu 13...

Just one more example of delusional clone mentality. Perhaps there would be a better choice of team to depict the term 'bottom feeder'. Gotta believe that isu and Kansas would be on just about every single list for that consideration though.

Herkyfan: My man, please know us clown fans aren't comparing programs. At least I'm not. I've conceded long ago the superiority of Iowa's football program. And for what it's worth, I hope the Hawks shock the world again this Saturday (yes, it pains me to say). As a native Iowan now living out of state I'd like nothing more than to see and hear "Iowa" in a positive light over the course of the next month.

That said, it's remarkable to me that us little brothers have gotten so much attention in this thread during such an important week for your program. Clearly Pollard has gotten someone's attention.

I would hardly call this thread any evidence that little bro is getting all this attention. All but one thread is focused on this weekend and the bowl positioning and even this thread wouldn't exist if Pollard didn't act like the DB he is. I guess we must ignore all that correct?

Pollard must have never heard the quote from Abe Lincoln "Better to remain silent and be thought of a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt".

Pollard and isu is a match made in heaven.

Wait a bottom feeder slapped around the clones? This can't be or Clone fan is gonna cry.

What i think is funny is Cyclone football fans are obsessed with Sagarin rankings like they mean anything at all.

Yet most of those Big Ten teams would slap around the clones except for maybe Maryland.

So with your one win in conference isu would go 2-10 with Iowa's schedule.
Don't count Maryland out, you're giving ISU too much credit.

I have, and and see no comparison. Hlas, for one, has criticized Iowa plenty. If you want exclamation points in articles look to a certain writer about the Clones in the Rag.
Hlas is the exception. The Register has no one like him -- or anywhere as good as him. I was referring to other sportswriters who cover the Hawks, now and in the past.

Hey, they're nice guys and they work hard. But they are rabid Hawkeye fans and they write like it. That's the territory they're in.

Once again, you allow your personal bias to override common sense.

Hlas should have stayed in the newsroom. Once he went on air (behind a microphone) - even if only for a minute or two, his lack of general knowledge/understanding of the game of football was exposed. I have never been an avid reader of his work, but based on what I have heard from him on radio I can surmise that he is just another 'hack' who has fallen into the category of being cute and controversial rather than thorough and informed.

It is very easy to see why you are a fan, LC. Something peas in a pod rings a bell.

Doesn't matter what you price them at when you bring in Maryland, Purdue, Minnesota, Illinois, North Texas, Illinois State, and Pitt to Iowa City. The conf record of your B10 home games this year is collectively 6-26......that would be a 23% conf winners coming to Iowa City.
