I know this is mainly a 4A thread but Emmetsburg and Harlan would probably have to say something about East/West domination.
The East side of the state should win 4A more often than not. The West side only has 5 or 6 4A schools.

No, hawkit is not lumping all of Des Moines in with the East, like you just did.....which is not factual, btw.
DSM teams do not consider themselves to be in the Western Iowa category. I guarantee you that.
For the purposes of 4A football, the power teams/state title contenders are either from CR/IC/QC or DM. Specifically the West Des Moines schools. That's the east/west divide they're talking about.
