OT: Is Nebraska Now In "Win At All Costs" Mode?

I guess you haven't been paying attention so to fill you in, Mike Reily is not in Lincoln anymore.
The last time I looked head coaches don't play in the games; it will be the same old story for Nebraska. Iowa will beat the huskers by at least 3 touchdowns.

Coaching matters, it will be competitive this year.
What is competitive? Riley won 6 games his first year. That is probably what Frost wins his first year. Riley won 9 games his second year. Will Frost win 9 games his second year? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe you should shut your mouth on the Iowa board and wait and see what Frost does. I have literally never seen fans who have just got their ass kicked by Iowa brag about how good they are going to be. Go home Debra.

No sh!t.
No other fan base pops off as much as Nebby fans do.....ON OTHER teams boards.
Are they THAT humiliated that they gotta live life predicated on giving us all "Frost warnings"?

This is a first for me to witness this.

"Don't fear us by how we play! Fear us by what MIGHT happen!'

Was this standard operating procedure in the big 12?

You know what Nebraska reminds me of?
th

They grasp for what they call the golden years, they don't want to admit that things have changed. They love to recite their now two decade plus history as nothing but a hiccup, I don't know how long a traditional power can say things are going to go back to the ways they were when it's been this way for 20 plus years now. This is your reality, it's quite pleasant .

The DLine? Really? Please watch the 4th quarter of the 2016 and 2017 Iowa vs UNL games. 1 pass play. All the rest were running plays and the Husker defense knew it. Could not stop the Hawks. IIRC there were 5 Hawkeye TDs scored and the only time we were stopped was when we took a knee.

I think there were some graduations after last year, as well. If the DL is your best position group, then possibly more than a couple of years away.
Very obvious that Iowa fans concentrate on the recent past when Nebraska was handicapped by crappy coaching and a terrible AD. Living in the past isn't going to help you in the future. Times are changing boys. You can ignore what is coming but you can't avoid it. Props for your last couple years. The future will belong to us. Iowa RIP.

True at the momemnt...but that will be changing.
Toughest non conference game for Iowa is usually Iowa State . Am I right ? Unless of course , you add North Dakota State to the discussion. Am I right ? Start challenging yourself a bit more in non conference games . Just some well intended advice. You have to admit it has been kind of skimpy. Am I right ?

Dude first off Iowa just kicked the crap out of you guys.. Iowa plays northern Illinois who you just lost to last year.. and your previous post when you talk about living in the past come on man, that’s all half your fan base does.

So when Frost doesn't work out then what? Keep him or bail? What is the over under on his Nebraska coaching career? I say same as wins this year 5.5, and I will take the under.

Well your college football intelligence level is shinning thorugh brightly. Frost is a difference maker at Nebraska, it's as simple as that. You guys don't get it yet but you will in a few years. Enjoy the ride.

My lord, Iowa fans are truly idiotic.

Since 1999 Iowa has won 143 vs Nebraskas 161.

Even the downfall of Nebraska's football program was better than the prime of Iowa's football program.

Yes, you guys owned Neb during Mike Riley era, but who didn't? Nebraska is clearly the superior program.

No the thing is frost could be great, average or bad at Nebraska. Nobody knows, which he will be.. assuming he will be great at Nebraska because he was successful at ucf isn’t the smartest way to go.. there has been countless Mac/wac level coaches that struggled at power 5 school

Frost has already spent many hours reviewing press conference footage of Osborne making excesses for criminal behavior and academic fraud. In addition to that, the facilities has put locks on all closet doors in a 5 block radius during home games in case Frost starts witnessing his team taking a beating. Coincidentally, many of the steroid dealers around Lincoln have been spotted buying new rides and throwing money around. Husker nation knows their true recipe for success!

UNL's program is in shambles. Iowa's is currently superior. Fact.

Iowa vs Nebraska score prediction for this year?

The "superior" program shouldn't have any trouble with Iowa.

I'd like to schedule Wisconsin for our Black Friday games instead of Nebubba. It just much better for future recruits and they're totally more competitive than you guys. Noone wants to watch us curbstomp Nebraska into Oblivion again. You sound like you understand us needing more of a challenge than Nebby.

Am I right?

How can I predict a score when we don't even know who out starting QB is. Regardless, neb will be back to beating Iowa regularly. Just like we were before Mike Riley era.

It's no longer the Mike Riley era. Given that fact, and your claim of being a superior program, your knowledge of your own roster etc...can't you make and educated guess? What year do you start "beating Iowa regularly"?

I think their record in the big is better than Iowa's by a couple wins. They are far from a doormat. While it may be fun to kick them when they are down usually what goes around comes around.

Ding Ding Ding....This guy gets it. The Huskers are bad, but yet have won more games since joining the Big 10.

I have no doubt we will be much improved this year, especially physically and conditioning wise. We will still be young though, and with the schedule we face, and in a transition year (again), it is hard to think we will win more than 7, maybe 8 with the right bowl match up, but that will be a good first step.

I know it is fun to kick a neighboring team when they are down, because we did it for so many years to the Hawkeyes, and probably why you guys seem to let us live rent free in your heads a lot, just remembering how those games used to go. I think there is also at least some fear on one side, and confidence on the other, that Nebraska will be Nebraska again, and that when that happens, Iowa will still be Iowa.

BTW, I'm glad to have agreed to restart the Black Friday game. It should never have been dropped.

You forgot to mention that the huskers were lucky to be in a shit conference until 2011, otherwise the downfall could have been a lot worse. Instead of sneaking by Iowa State and Kansas, I am estimating that you would have had the piss pounded out of you by Iowa in about 70% of the games played between 1999 and 2011. Additionally, I doubt you would have ever won any national titles in the 90's had you been in the Big 10 at that time. Determining a national champion was so subjective back then and it helped that the huskers were able to beat up on weak competition in a shit league. Enjoy the memories though.....because I am also estimating that you will need to live off those the rest of your existence.

You think you live in our heads rent free? We deal with Nebubba fans DAILY on our own board! YOU are coming over HERE!

The real fear is on Nebraska's side of the river.

The question that shan't be uttered is...

What if Scott FLOPS?

My God...he HAS to work out! It's you guys throwing a Tommy A hail Mary.

Iowa beats Nebraska by 3 touchdowns this year.

If you end up going the projected 5-7, will we find you hanging in your garage?

Bunch of nine win years or 8 wins with a 12-0 in there. Whichever you prefer I guess.

We are at least attempting to get it right,. You guys have settled for an extremely overpaid HC, and it looks like when he dies eventually, you'll hire his son. Who looks more like they want to get over the hump?

I come over to the wrestling board mostly, and peruse the football board a bit, but try not to troll. I have some pretty close friends that are Iowa fans, so do follow the Hawks a bit. It's just hard to sit quiet when Iowa fans act like the Huskers are bottom feeders, when it has taken some of the best teams in your history, to beat our very worst. It will cycle, ...it always does.

You’re probably right. The huskers have been cycling out of prominence for almost 20 years now. I’m hoping Iowa continues to help them find new lows.

You realize how lucky you are to even be here?

You can't say the above bold on the Husker forum without getting banned to maintain Husker delusion..so forgive us for not being empathetic....and you ARE bottom feeders right now!

Maybe that changes but good Lord...take some responsibility for hiring Riley.

Remember, your buds came here when u joined the big- promising to own the division, then the B1G....bzzzzzzz....didn't happen. Then Bo was going to kick everyone's asses....bzzzzzzz...didn't happen. Rinse and repeat with Riley.

It gets old.....FAST!

Pure BS from a biased Hawkeye. Look at what Nebraska did against an average B10 team, MSU in 95 & 96. Kansas was actually pretty good during the 90's. The B12 was no worse than the B10. And is that Iowa State team that you claim Nebraska snuck by the same one that is 10-10 against the Hawks over the last 20 years?

First of all, I do appreciate being here, that is not lost on me.

Secondly, I (Husker fans) didn't hire Mike Riley. I actually had to google his name when I heard it, and there aren't many other power five head coaches names, I wouldn't have known. Sean Eichorst was a one man search committee, and it cost him his job.

I would never have given the reins to Frank Solich, to me, that was where the tide turned, and had they gone with a proven guy then, maybe we would have been a dominant new member to the Big 10. Prior to joining, we certainly had a pretty good record vs the Big 10.

We are certainly seeing some recruiting momentum since Frost was hired, so that tells me, some recruits also must think we could be a sleeping giant as well.

Just today...https://nebraska.rivals.com/news/nebraska-felt-like-home-to-rivals250-lb-hannah

Look at his offers list

Thanks again for allowing me to add my thoughts.
