I think Rhoads just coached himself out of a job. Especially coming on top of the debacle last week. My guess is that even his defenders have had enough.

BTW, he's 0-7 against Snyder, and in six of the losses, ISU had the lead in the second half and the game was decided on the last series of downs.

That was truly unbelievable. I never feel too sad when ISU loses, but the players did not deserve that loss. That is 100% on the coach.

Maybe, but you don't have to run the play the coach calls if you know it is an idiotic call. But if you aren't smart enough to know it is an idiotic call, then that is an entirely different issue.

Would Iowa State ever pull a reverse Gable and offer Brian Ferentz the head job? He, or someone like him, might be a best case scenario with all of the other openings. He also has five years experience recruiting to the state.

He needs to be a coordinator for some time first before he's ready for a head job. If Kirk ends his Iowa career on a high note (and it looks like he will) then BF will likely have a shot at the Iowa job in the future. BF will aim much higher than the Iowa State job if he doesn't coach at Iowa. Iowa State will have a bad year to be hiring if they can Rhoads. Lots of open jobs that are better positions than the Cyclone job.

When KSU had the ball before they tied it, the clock didn't run for at least 15 seconds on the play before they scored I believe. So, when ISU got the ball back, there should have only been about 25 seconds left, not 40. When KSU recovered the fumble, there was 10 seconds left. Game should have been in OT by then.

I would say Kansas is the only Power five job worse than ISU at this point. There is just no hope for that program in Ames.

Yeah, that's correct. At the time, I thought it was a good thing for ISU because it was obvious KSU was going to score, and that gave ISU more time. But as it turned out, of course, there wouldn't have been time to kick the FG.

But the way things were going, no way in hell ISU would have won in OT, anyway.

Just had to take a knee with 1:30 left up a TD and KSU with 1 timeout. Instead, warren fumbles and KSU scores. Next play, Lanning fumbles and KSU recovers, kicks a FG.

Unbelievable and should be a fireable offense IMO
