I wouldn’t be surprised if they still won 8-9 games this year. Iowa will get Nebraska’s best on Black Friday. They improved throughout last season. No reason to think they won’t get better this year as well.

That's gonna be a problem for Husker fan. Had a conversation with some of their fans last night and they truly believe that Nebraska is going to win a national title within the next 5 years. When that doesn't happen I think the patience of that fan base will wear thin. 9 wins a year isn't good enough for that fan base.

I also give them credit for scheduling past rivals like Colorado and Oklahoma. It has been fun watching the games against old Big 8 foes. I remember how big of a deal the late 80's into the 90's games with CU was. I am sure future Oklahoma games will be equally nostalgic

They're young and could improve. I don't think they will have the talent of Wisconsin or Iowa but they could improve and be the 3rd best team in a weak West this year. Plus the way our offense is I wouldn't be surprised to see the Nebraska game be a 1 score game in the 4th qtr again. We tend to let too many teams hang around. Even yesterday's game if we score a couple TD's where we had to kick FG's that would have been a completely different game. We had the ball inside the ISU 30 5 times and only scored 18pts. Against teams like ISU, Purdue, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Michigan and Penn St they have the athletes to score more than 18pts without getting the ball down inside the Iowa 30.

Nebraska always had way better recruiting than Iowa and Wisconsin and that is fact and pretty much always will. Iowa and Wisconsin have done a very good job doing more with much less talent than Nebraska.
